Our church women make this green bean dish for funeral dinners and it is really good. I'll give you the recipe for the big pot.

*********************************
1 small to medium white onion ( can use yellow )
1 pound bacon ( you won't use it all, but good to have the extra )
1 gallon can of green beans
------------------------------
Dice onion. In 12 inch skillet, place onion and saute until onion just starts to cook. Slice/cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces and put into skillet. Cook bacon and onion together until onion is translucent and bacon is cooked, but not crisp. While bacon and onion cook, put beans, undrained, in a big pot. Heat over medium high heat. When bacon and onions are done put them into the pot and heat all of it till hot. Place in serving bowl and enjoy.
*********************************

My husband doesn't like green beans but he will eat them this way. For my family of 5 I use about a half cup of diced onion and I'll cut up about 4 to 6 pieces of bacon. I use 2 cans, 15 ounces each, of green beans. Doesn't matter if they are regular cut or french cut. I cook them the same way.
I also have some other recipes for dry beans. And I have web sites for bean recipes, too. I can give you baked bean recipes, cookie recipes, fudge recipes, cake recipes, chili recipes and many more. Just holler at me with what you think sounds good and I'll give them to you
I don't have the garbonzo bean ( chick peas ) cookie recipe, but I think I can get it for you if you want it.

Peace!
Nancy S.

I tried to post some of my bean recipes earlier, but the computer went all fubar on me.
Anyhoo, I'll give you my fudge recipe and then in a day or two I'll add more recipes for you

No Bake Pinto Bean Fudge
Can you think of a better way to eat your beans then as dessert? Another plus is not having to turn on that oven in the summer! When I had tried pinto bean cookies and loved them, I went looking for more things with beans that are desserts. Found this on the internet. This is not a diet dessert...so eat sparingly.

20 min 20 min prep 48 squares

1 C. Pinto Beans ¾ C Cocoa powder
½ C Margarine or butter, melted 1 Tbs. vanilla extract
2 lbs. Powdered Sugar (minus 2 C.)* ½ to 1 Cup chopped Walnuts

1. Mash beans and heat in microwave for 30 seconds on high.
2. Mix well together all ingredients.
3. Butter a 9x13 inch pan and spread mixture.
4. Put in refrigerator and chill thoroughly.
5. Cut into squares.
* I add a little bit of powdered sugar and mix it well, then taste a bit and add more as needed. I also wear those latex or plastic gloves. I put them on and then wash my hands, rinsing very well and drying well, that way I can keep my hands clean while mixing. Another little tip, Pinto beans have somewhat tough skins so if you don't add walnuts, you might want to try and
pick out the bigger bits. Enjoy!!

I can also give you a White Bean Fudge recipe

Peace!
