Very nervous
I've been lurking for a while but wanted to post. I had a ruptured ectopic 09/08/05 with sugery and spent 3 days in the hospital. I know I'm lucky because of how dangerous they can be and the doc was able to save my tube. Apparently the pregnancy blew out the end of my tube instead of through the side. On 09/30/05 I had to get a Methotrexate (sp?) shot because my beta's went up and the doc assumed I had some pregnancy tissue left in the tube. I healed physicaly quickly after the surgery and had almost no side effects from the shot. Most days are emotionaly good now. It was a very wanted pregnancy. I wanted to get back to ttc ASAP. I'm able to try again this month (I'm doing IUIs with Clomid), but I'm really nervous that the same thing will happen again. I know from the scientific point of view that I'll be watched closely if I get preg. again but I don't know if I could handle it emotionaly. The doc wants to do an HSG next week before ovulation. I hope that will ease my fears some if it comes back with good news. Thanks for letting me share.

Re: Very nervous
I'm sorry about your ectopic. It's a very sad and hurtful thing to go through. It sounds like you have all your bases covered for trying again. I know it's still scary though. I wish you all the best and think that you will do fine. Let us know how the hsg test turns out and hopefully you'll soon be posting that you are pregnant again.

Re: Very nervous
Hi Joanna,
I'm very sorry for all you've been through. With fertility treatments, surgury, and then MTX, you've been through a lot. I hope your HSG shows that your tube is clear. I think we all are nervous to try again, but your doctor will watch you closely. And we are here for you too. Let us know how the HSG goes. Good Luck!

Re: Very nervous
I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic. I know how rough it can be. My first pg was a ruptured ectopic. My advice is to just go easy on yourself. It sounds like you're being well cared for, so just try not to be nervous. I know that's easier said than done, but as long as you're being watched closely, there's no reason you'll have another rupture. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck!!

Re: Very nervous
Thank you so much for your support. I had my HSG this morning. That was painful. Good news though, both tubes are clear! I'm glad I did it. It's nice to know that I can worry a little less. We should be doing an IUI this weekend and both the doc and assistant said that people tend to get preg very quickly after this test so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Re: Very nervous
Glad the HSG was all clear! I remember how painful it was... I wasn't expecting it. I figured it couldn't be bad after what I'd been through, but OUCH! I've heard, too, that fertility rates increase for a few months after the test, so best of luck with your IUI!!!

Re: Very nervous
Joanna,
I'm so glad to hear that your tubes are clear! I found it a little painful after my surgury too, but it's worth it both for the peace of mind, and because it does increase your odds. Good Luck with your IUI! Sending lots of {{{Sticky Vibes}}}. Please let us know how it goes!
