TTC again and scared

First of all, Congrats to Jerseymom!!! Her news does sound so good. But my doc gave me the go ahead to start trying since my ectopic in August. We're not waiting the 3 mo due to my endometriosis. But I'm scared to death but I have stories like Jerseymom to look forward to right? What's the probability of having another ectopic once you've had one? I know it's more but I was wondering the percentage. Thanks again.

We all go through the worry of having another EP. I've done it twice now (you can probably read about my last saga on the first page or 2). The odds for us are about 3 times greater. I don't remember where I read that. But that is still a low number. Of couse some people have problems where they have repeat EPs. If there is no problem like that, then chances are you will be fine. (Sorry I don't know how endometriosis affects your odds.) I know that is probably not enough to make you feel better. But your doctor should watch you closely to give you answers very early.

And that is what this board is for. I've been here (or on the predecesor) for just over 3 years. We're a shoulder to cry on, people to worry with, and cheerleaders.

I read that the chance of having another ectopic once you've had one is 10 - 15%. But that also depends on why you had one in the first place and what the condition of your tubes are. I lost my tube with my ectopic and my dr. said that they actually do not expect another ectopic once the damaged tube is gone. If they left it in, my dr. felt it would have happened again.

I can definitely understand you being afraid...but the odds are still in favor of having a healthy pregancy. Good luck and hope to hear your good news very soon!

Maybe you should consider having a hysterosalpingogram (HSG)
After my ectopic in Aug.05, I was so scared to ttc again (I can relate!) And even though my doctor gave me the go ahead, I still wanted to MAKE SURE that my one tube was as healthy as she thought.

Play it safe and even if everything looks good at least you will know!!
