Default Thinking of trying this month

My dr. said to wait until August to try but didn't really specify how many cycles to wait. I've had 3 periods and now should be ovulating soon. If we dtd without protection in the next few days, I could become pregnant.

I want to try so bad but I am so scared. I don't want to go through another ectopic. I think I read once that the sooner you get pregnant after an ectopic the greater your chances of it happening again. Did any of you read or hear that??

I am getting so down again about this whole thing. I may not even get pregnant trying this month. But in my heart I want to try. I really feel fully recovered physically.

Sorry for my venting...just hoping for some words of wisdom that anyone has to offer! I don't know what to do.

Thanks,
Lynn

Hi Lynn,

Good Luck trying! I'm sending you lots of

I had my ectopic pregnancy in September 2002. I O'd about 3 months to the day after my surgury. My DD was conceived and implanted normally. Having had EP's we do have a higher risk than most of repeat EP, but on average that is still low. There is always a chance that there is an issue with your tube (I don't remember if you had yours removed), but since you have a DD already, hopefully it means that you can have another child problem free. Your doctor should be willing to monitar your HCG and give you an early u/s (~ 6 weeks). Those things helped me get through the anxiety of worrying about a repeat EP.

But first, good luck TTC! We're here every step of the way!

Cindy - Thanks...it looks like I will be ovulating 2 weeks short of three months after my surgery. I hope that I'm not trying too soon. I did have my right tube removed, but the dr. said my other tube was clear.

Thank you so much for your reply. It really helps being able to talk to someone who's been there. You'll probably be hearing from me a whole lot the next few weeks!!

Thanks again,
Lynn

I'm probably late here...but if you did ttc this month I hope it's a success.

I was treated with MTX, so it was different. I was told to wait three months, but my cycles are long so I only waited two cycles. I didn't get pregnant that cycle....maybe my body wasn't ready or maybe we just didn't catch the eggie...but I did get pregnant the second time.
