Hello, My name is Jodi. I have a 1 year old son that I conceived using clomid. I was happy when we found out we were expecting again this past October. Unfortunately it was Ectopic. After two unsuccessful injections of methotrexate, my right tube ruptured and I was rushed into emergency surgery. I lost my right tube. To make matters worse, the HSG I had in March 2004, revealed my left tube was completely blocked.

I am hoping for a repeat HSG in March just to be sure the left tube is definately blocked, if so, I guess we are onto IVF. I also have PCOS and very irregular cycles.

I was just looking to hear others experiences with Tubal Factor Infertility and if IVF was the only option.

You and I are in the same boat, just opposite tubes I think. My Dr. has told me that IVF is my only option. Good luck! Keep us posted on your progress.

Lost left tube

Hey there...
I had my first ectopic in July - lost my left tube...
My second in January had a MTX shot - kept my right tube...
Had my third in March had a MTX shot and they want to take my right tube now..
After my first ectopic I paid the big bucks for IVF and the first one didn't take...
then we took a break and naturally conceived the second ectopic...
MY doctor told me with two damaged tubes the Gov't would pay for future IVFs...
I'm not sure where you live...but in Ontario Canada that is the case...maybe discuss with your doctor and your insurance....

Hi,

I'm sorry for what you are going through. I had an ectopic almost a year ago and lost my right tube.

I just wanted to say that a friend of mine lost an ovary and tube on one side after having her daughter almost 3 years ago. They told her all along that her other tube was blocked and that if she got pregnant again it would be an ectopic. Well she just had another hsg test done and her tube is clear! I hope you find out the same thing when you have your hsg done again. Good luck and let us know what happens.
