Default New to the board

Hello,

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mari. I'm the proud mother of an (almost) 2 year old daughter. My husband and I have been TTC since 6/2004. In July, we had our first IUI and it was a success. That joy only lasted a week and then I got the devastating news that my pregnany was ectopic. This came as quite a shock because I had just had an HSG and my tubes were clear. Plus, I already had one successful pregnancy, so I was never really concerned about ectopics.

I was given the Methotrexate shot nearly 2 weeks ago and my HCG levels are coming down nicely - last Monday's level was 86. I am experiencing slight pain in the area of my left ovary. I just got another u/s today since my doctor's were concerned about my pain. He said that he did see some fluid, but it doesn't look like my tube is about to rupture. Did anyone else experience this pain while on the Methotrexate? Also, does anyone know what my chances are of being able to keep my tube?

I am so glad I found this site because I feel so lost and confused. I look forward to posting with everyone!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how devestating it can be. I had two children before my ectopic and so never considered the possibility.

I had pain in my tube after my MTX shot and it continued on and off for probably about six or seven months after the shot. You only would lose the tube if it ruptured or if you have surgery. With the MTX shot, there is no reason that you'd lose it.

I hope your numbers continue to drop.

Hi Mari,

I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. I don't have any experience with MTX so I can't help there. But welcome, albeit under sad circumstances. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you want and even cry or vent if you need too.
