A million QUESTIONS
Hi, I am new here, but am glad I found a place to hopefully get some questions answered. I had an ectopic in December 05 and had no idea,(thought it was just af) and waited too long to go to the docs. My DH and I having been TTC since February with no luck yet, I have no idea when my AF should arrive because while it is back to normal the cycle isn't back to 28 days yet. It could be anywhere from 28 to 33. Is there anyway I can figure that out beforehand? I go to different sites that calculate it for you but they are never right and I drive myself crazy wondering if I am late and not wanting to spend a fortune on preg tests or go to the doc too early. Any help will be greatly appreciated, this is so stressful after having no troulbe conceiving before.

Re: A million QUESTIONS
Hi,
I am so sorry about your ectopic...I have just had one myself about 3 weeks ago. I have been reading a lot about getting pregnant again and one thing I read is that even if your period is very regular, you can still ovulate any time, not always at the same time every month. It said that if you want to get pregnant you should have sex every 3 days from the time you get done your period to the time you should get your period again. You can even ovulate right after or right before or during your period. I plan on following this advice when I can try again in August.
Hope that helps. By the way, how many kids do you have? And were they able to save your tube?
Lynn

Re: A million QUESTIONS
Have you tried charting to get a better idea of when you ovulate? It worked wonders for me. You use a basal body thermometer every morning right as you wake up but before you move or get out of bed. If you keep track of your temps, and a few other symptoms, you can get a very good idea of when you'll O. I used fertilityfriend.com to keep track of my chart. If you have questions, feel free to pm me. I charted for a LONG time!!
Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!!!

Re: A million QUESTIONS
I agree with the charting. It helped me know when I was O'ing, and at the end of the month, I could tell if AF was coming or not. The fertility friend website is very helpful in both info and interpreting your charges. Charting can tell you if you are O'ing at all, and will save lots of money on tests if you are not.
Another option is fertility monitar. I think it tests your saliva and predicts when you are O'ing. They can be expensive, but sometimes you can find them on ebay.
When I was TTC my second child, I discovered that my cycle was out of wack and that was the reason I couldn't conceive right away. In my case, it seemed to be related to breast feeding.
I think the best thing to do in any case is as Lynn said, after AF leaves, have sex every 2 or 3 days at least until day 20 if your longs cycles are 33 days.
Good Luck! Please feel free to post as many questions as you want.

Re: A million QUESTIONS
Thanks for the imput. I really appreciate it. It can be sooo frustrating. And I had no idea you could O anytime, I thought it was pretty much around the same time every month. So thanks a bunch. I have 2 kids already, a boy and a girl so I am pretty lucky and that's why I had no idea I was having the ectopic, my other pregnancies were pretty uneventful So I hope I don't sound selfish because I know some of you gals on here are having trouble having one. Thanks again.

Re: A million QUESTIONS
Having one tube really just makes it take longer to get pg, but it doesn't really affect overall success rates. Your chances are higher on the months that you ovulate on the same time as you still have a tube, but once an egg is released, the other tube can reach out and "grab" it, too. Not sure if your doc would recommend it or not, but mine put me on Clomid to increase the number of eggs I was releasing and to increase my odds. It did work... I got pg once naturally with just one tube but got pg twice in five cycles once on Clomid. Unfortunately, it turns out I have an issue that causes almost all of my pregnancies to be tubal, so we stopped trying.
Best of luck!!!!!
