Hi Lynn,

I remember you from the June 2003 board. Congratulations on your ultrasound - - how exciting! I have read your posts on this board, as I had an ectopic in June 2004. I'm writing to you because I found out I am pregnant again on 1/24. I wanted to ask you, did you worry yourself sick when you were in the early stages of your current pregnancy? I am obsessed; I keep thinking I feel a pain in my side, etc. I had my hcg blood draw on 1/24 and 1/26 - the results were 83 and 263. So, they are more than doubling, which is great. I thought this would ease my fears, but I feel like now I am stressing even more. Silly, but true. I am scheduled for an ultrasound in one week, when I will be about 5 w, 3 days. I know a heartbeat probably won't be visible then (something else to stress about), but right now I just want to see a pregnancy in the uterus. Do you have any words of wisdom for me? Thank you in advance - - I appreciate anything you have to say.

Hi! Thank you so much!

I know exactly how you feel right now. I was an absolute nervous wreck when I got pregnant again, I couldn't sleep or relax. Your numbers are great. That's what mine did in the begining - they more than doubled. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I also had pains on one side but I told my doctor about it right away and he said it was round ligament pain which is perfectly normal. I had my first ultrasound done at just under 5 weeks which they couldn't confirm whether it was a pregnancy in the uterus but they said the lining was very thick in there and that was a good sign. I really think you are okay but I know it's so hard to relax until you see it for yourself. I completely understand because I was so stressed about it too.

I hope everything goes well at your ultrasound Friday. Please let us know how you do! Again, it sounds like everything is okay! Congratulations! If there's anything else I can do to help, let me know!

Lynn

Heather,

Congratulations on your PG! I can't add anything more to Lynn's response. I've had 2 children since my EP, and I was a nervous wreck both times. Try to let the numbers ease your mind. I hope you have a good u/s. Let us know how it goes.

Lynn and Cindy,
Thank you SO MUCH for your comforting words! Of course I am anxious for the ultrasound but both my husband and I are feeling as though everything is going to be okay this time. I may call my doctor about the pain in my side tomorrow - - it is very mild and it is close to where my leg connects to my body, but feels like a pulled muscle, not at all like a stabbing pain. My husband said this morning it sounds like "growing pains". I also think any little thing I feel sends me into "freakout" mode, so I am also trying to keep things in perspective. Again, thank you so much for reassuring me. I'll let you know what happens on Friday.
