Re: How long
I had things start happening within 24 hours. I never had any bleeding or cramping...just other side effects from a chemo shot.
The numbers will tell. I hope your numbers drop quickly.

Re: How long
Hi, I had the shot at 4:30pm on May 27 and started bleeding at 8:30am on May 29. I guess if you have not had a D&C you will bleed. My bleeding was very heavy and in the first few days I had alot of what seemed like "tissue" come out (it was pink and grey). How are you doing?

Re: How long
I am doing ok. I don't mean to sound harsh or insensative, but I am just ready for it to be over with. There is still that fear looming around that I will still have a rupture. I know it is only a 10% chance, but that is 10% too much. I am anxious for my appt. on Thursday even though I am sure I won't get my #'s back until Friday. Is nausea a side effect of the meth. shot?

Re: How long
You don't sound mean or harsh. I agree with you 100%. I would like nothing more than to start TTC again at this point. I hate that I am TOTALLY LOST as to whether I can even dtd yet????
I do know that nausea can be a side effect, however I didn't get sick.
Have you taken some time off of work (if you work)? I went back but I work in an office so it was not that bad.

Re: How long
I work with dh. So if I start feeling bad I can sit back and prop my feet up. This whole thing stinks. I am sorry you are going through it too!

Re: How long
I'm glad you are able to get back to work and I'm even more GLAD that you work with your dh so you can have some "down" time if you want it!
I'm sorry we had to meet this way, but I'm sure glad I've met you. Your feelings have been similiar to mine, and because of that, I don't feel alone. Thankyou.

Re: How long
I know I hate the circumstances that we had to meet, but I am glad we met as well. It does help a lot to have someone to talk to that is going through the same thing at relatively the same time. DH and I will be having a ton of company the next couple of weekends and I am so glad b/c it does help to keep my mind off things and will help the time pass by. I know I am jumping the gun and all, but I am anxious to be able to ttc again. Next week was to be my sweet angel, Alaura's due date and that coupled with this has been really tough. But, I still remain optimistic. Sorry to babble so much. Are you going to ttc again once you get the go ahead from the dr.?

Re: How long
I am SO anxious as well! I REALLY wanted to dtd last night, but DH convinced me we should wait. He went on the internet to find out if it was ok. I suppose I can wait a little longer. I know I am supposed to have a cycle before TTC, but I really hope my Dr. says it's okay to start trying when I'mback to 0, cycle or no cycle! What about you? What will you do.
Please know that I'll be praying for you and your family next week for Alaura's due date.

Re: How long
I had the d&c so I have to wait 4 wks. to take a bath (I can shower) and to dtd. I have read that you should wait a cycle b/c the meth shot depletes the folic acid so you need to replace it before ttc. So dh and I will be eating a ton of brocolli and leafy green veggies that month...lol. I have a ton of questions for the dr. but I guess I'll wait til my #s are 0 or to at least see if the shot is working. KWIM? When do you see you dr again?
Thanks for the prayers...we need them.

Re: How long
I see my Family Dr. on Tuesday, just to let him know what has happened. I go for my blood test on Thursday and then my ob/gyn will call and Friday and apparently he will let me know if he needs to see me. In any case I have WAY too many questions I need to ask and I think I will be calling him before then. What does KWIM mean?
How are your numbers? Have they gone down quite a bit?

Re: How long
KWIM = know what I mean
Nausea is a side effect of the MTX shot. It's not supposed to be very common, but I had it severely.
I hope both of your numbers are back to 0 soon.

Re: How long
During the first few days (I believe up to 4) the numbers may actually continue to increase. After that, the numbers should drop in half every seven days. I was tested weekly until my numbers dropped to 0. My numbers were about 900 and it took four weeks to drop to 0. They continued testing me two weeks after that...just to make sure. From my readings, the average time to drop to 0 is one month.
