Icon5 another question

OK, so I have a question. How long after the EP was it until you got you period? How long until you had a regular cycle? It is now 1 month after and I still have not started. The DR. said it could come whenever. Not alot of help. Thanks again for all your answers and support!

For me it was pretty much my regular cycle length after my surgery. I know it can be a lot different for MTX. You have a ticker up are you TTC this month? I thought you were sitting this month out, but we did have a girl get PG before AF came back. Hopefully she'll show up so you and get back to work.

It took me 5 weeks for my hcg levels to drop after my MTX shot and then af showed up exactly 4 weeks after that.

Hopefully, yours will show soon.

Hi...

It took me 4 weeks for my beta to drop to 0 after MTX and another 5 weeks for a "regular" cycle.

With my ruptured ep, I got a regular cycle within 4 weeks of surgery, if I recall correctly.

I hope af shows for you very soon!

What is MTX? I would have been due for my period then on the 8th? So, How long should I wait before I get worried?
OH- no, we are not trying right now. I had put that timer up right before my EP. I want to have my 2 regular cycles so we can start again.
But, when I had my EP, the dr said that when they did the ultrasound and sonicgram, they didnt see a pregnancy, but she said it could have been because I was only like 3 weeks PG and to small to see. Then, when I had asked her after the surgery if she could tell how far I was, she said they didnt even look for the PG because my tube was so damaged. So, how do I know that they removed a pregnancy? I had very minimal bleeding after. And my tube was extremely large for only being 3 weeks. Everything has been so messed up these past few months, I dont know what is going on- I just want to get regular again and start TTC!

Hi, Cory!

MTX is methotrexate -- the injection to medically terminate an ectopic. You had surgery so you didn't have it.

I'd say you probably don't have to be worried about not getting a period for a while. I had MTX in August and have only had 1 "regular" period since then. It can take your body a while to get back on track...

I had surgery with my first ectopic. I think by the time an ectopic is being resolved surgically, they don't really concentrate much on what they find -- the surgeon is more concerned with making sure they either stop or prevent hemorrhaging and preserve your future fertility. I found it frustrating, too, not to know more..It can provide closure to have answers, but as I understand it, NOT seeing pg on an ultrasound is actually an indicator of an ectopic. A properly placed uterine pregnancy can be detected VERY early on. When it's in the tube, it's not as easy to figure out gestation time, but it's treated based on knowing the pregnancy is not where it should be. You can only really assume ectopic at that point (if beta levels are positive). I hope I'm making sense. I'm trying to recall how it was described to me over 2 years ago...

I hope you're continuing to heal... I know how anxious you must be to TTC again!! Just take good care of yourself in the mean time. I find apple martinis to be medicinal myself.

Thanks for the help- you did make sense. So, on your first EP, you had surgery? How long after that did you start your period? Do you remember?

I'm not 100% certain... I know I actually started bleeding while still in the hospital -- that was probably only about 2 days after surgery. I'm not sure that "counted." Actual af bleeding probably came about 5 or 6 weeks after I came home from the hospital. I was out of work for just over 6 weeks, and I think I recall it happening just before I went back to work. I wish I could remember more distinctly. We couldn't bd for at least 8 weeks, so I don't think I was paying as close attention as I would have been otherwise. We had not been ttc when the first ectopic happened, so I didn't immediately think about actually trying. That came about 3 or 4 months later... (I got pg 6 months after, by the way!)

How are you feeling?
