Howdy from PA, I don't think I am in your neck of the woods, but wanted to say hello!
I'm further south I think... in Schuylkill County.

Hiya! And congratulations on the newest member of the tribe What a beautiful way to welcome spring!

So your new baby's being born at HMC? That is such a great facility and we are truly blessed to have them in our state. My 8 year old goes there for all of his surgeries - actually, now that I'm writing this, I realize he has an annual visit coming up on the 23rd of this month. Yikes! Time flies I'm trying to think of what cities/towns are in Schulykill county and I'm drawing a blank. I'm *guessing* it's probably east of Harrisburg, south of Dauphin maybe? Dunno.

I've seen your posts on the Moms of Many boards (I only have 4 right now - there's room for one more in the van unless we go full-size... and that's definitely on the table for consideration!). Nice to know you're in PA b/c I hadn't realized that before. Have you seen that TLC show "Jon & Kate plus 8"? They're in PA, too - Lebanon area I believe (or not too far from there). I keep trying to convince my husband to get one of those transport vans like our local STEP office uses - I don't know how to describe them other than they're like mini-buses but do NOT look like the infamous "short bus" I'd love to have something like that and just fill 'er up!

Hey there, sorry it has been hectic here, TY! I am anxious for May to get here so we can meet the new tribe member!
Well, let's see. I moved to Schuylkill Haven from Lebanon - my folks are down there. Here in Schuylkill, we are near Pottsville and Orwigsburg, Cressona and St. Clair - that I can think of right off. I know the "Cabelas" is right here.
Yes, I've watched That TLC Show, great family!! We have a 15 passenger van too, def. needed!! lol
Yes, I love HMC, don't know what I would do without them! I go there for all my different medical issues as well as for the kids too! What going on with your lil one? (well, at 8 I guess they wouldn't want to be considered little huh? lol) Hope all is well now!
We will be moving soon, we don't know where yet, but thats the Army for ya... lol
I'll have to check in here more often, I've been insanely busy planning this move and all... my goodness!!

I know you hear it all the time, but honestly, I don't know how you do it!! LOL I know we all do what we have to do and have ways of adjusting no matter what life brings our way, but I'm tired just reading your post (okay, I'm just tired b/c the baby was up a LOT last night, nursed quite literally all night long b/c he started running a fever in the middle of the night).

My parents have been to the Cabela's (can you believe people treat it as a road trip? LOL) - I have no interest... although I'd love to go that direction to hit the King of Prussia mall

My 8 year old was in a vehicle-related accident the day he turned 9 mos. old. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and was initially life flighted to Danville (another amazing facility!). Believe it or not, he was released only 7 days later after the accident and had regained full use of all his pre-accident capabilities. When he was 18 months old, he had to have another surgery at Danville and in the months following that, I started getting more uncomfortable w/ what the doctors were saying, so we went to Hershey for a 2nd opinion and, hey, guess what? Mama's instincts were right! Things were *not* as they should have been, so we switched care down there. It was preferable to me, anyway, b/c HMC actually has pediatric neurosurgeons on staff whereas the neurosurgeon at Danville wasn't specializing in kiddos.

My oldest son (almost 14 as much as I cringe to admit that ) had 3 procedures at HMC before he was 3 years old - he was born w/ a chunk of cartiledge on his upper lip which was removed at 5 months old, revised at 18 months and then he had his tonsils & adenoids out.

So we have many, many hours and miles clocked in at HMC I'm guessing your preemies were there? That had to be scary, but at least you know they're in good hands, right?

Any ideas yet on the gender of the new member??

Sorry, we've been out with a barrage of colds, flu and mommy depression because Daddy's away, lol.

Wow, you guys have been through alot!! So glad to hear that they are doing well now yes, HMC is a great facility! My 33wk preemie was born there, my 23wk preemie was born while on a vacation to Las Vegas. So she was at Sunrise - Children's Hospital for 3 months until she could fly home to WI. (Where we lived then.)

Anyhoo, The 23 wk preemie - Heaven Leigh Grace, has been following up with her issues at HMC and it has been a great place for them as well as me... I have medical issues as well and love the care I get there!

You're too cute, I don't do nothin' special or any different than anyone else, I'm just a lil busier I guess, LOL. But, all kids keep us busy and tired, don't they! he he he!

I'll tell ya what, I am getting pretty dang tired these days as we get towards that magical last trimester... whew!! he he he!!

Hope things are doing well your way and no=one (especially the lil one) has gotten terribly sick or anything, I read you mentioned a fever, poor lil thing!!

Keep posting, looks like we are the only life this board has! LOL

Hi, tae! Clearfield's not too far from me - just two counties over (you're on one side of Centre, I'm on the other). My ex husband even has a son in Clearfield. I haven't spent much time over there, just the occassional sporting event and sometimes the Wal-Mart. Welcome to the SK boards

Rain, how're things going? Sounds crazier than usual! Hopefully things will settle down so you can get some good rest before welcoming the new member in a few more weeks!

My baby's fever wound up being a case of Roseola - I'd never even heard of it before! I thought he had the chicken pox when the spots started, so I loaded up on Calamine, Aveeno and sterilized cotton balls, but luckily they're all gone now. After 3 other kids, I thought I'd seen it all Believe it or not, one of the mamas on SK diagnosed it for me - she's a nurse. How cool is that?!

School's on a 2 hour delay today because of the cold (I'm guessing). These days so totally throw me off my routine! At least two of the kids are still sleeping in, though (including the baby), so that's nice

Stay warm & talk with you guys soon!
