I do like to garden, however my house is not conducive to alot of nice plants, too shady and wet. I have seen the freecycle site and registered but never went back to check it out, have you gotten things from there? I don't know alot about this site, I don't know if they offer private chats or anything. Can I ask you a question? how old are you, and how old are your children? if too nosy I understand completely.

sure, ask away...we might as well get to know each other. I am 29 years old and my boys...yes all boys are 10, 4 and my 2 year old will be 3 in 2 weeks. We moved to Delaware about three years ago from North Carolina because our family is mostly in Jersey.

Michelle, there is an extensive list of plants that would survive in your gardens, starting with Hostas and Astilbes...I know you have alot on your mind right now, but gardening would help you relax, I also get on Gardenhere.com frequently and i have made many friends through there...it could give a lot of info if you ever want to get into gardening.

As far as the Freecycle site goes...yes I have gotten many items through it, mostly garden stuff as we bought our first house last year and the yard was barren...I've gotten four azalea bushes and a numerous amount of perennials, two plant shelves and a couple of garden books. Also I got some toys and games for the boys...I have met many wonderful people through frrecycle that i have kept in touch with long after our first meeting.

Hope I have not bored you too much, nice talking to you!

Wow you've made alot of head way since moving here. Sounds like you have more time than myself to work on your garden. I do like to get out and dig in the dirt though. You've also done well with freecycle, I guess my time is just spent doing other things. I have tried to obtain a few items but with no luck. Maybe it's time to try again!!

thanks for the reply and I'll talk to you soon.

I do have four hostas that I haven't gotten planted yet, they are sitting on the ground in front of my fence...LOL I have alot of plants in planters also. I had a mums I bought last year and planted in one of my planters. It came back up this year and is getting ready to bloom....it was my favorite one, yellow!!

I will agree trying is half the fun of having another, now dh is thinking he doesn't want another baby!! WT!!?? I asked him again last night why he's changed his mind!! MEN, well I haven't gotten my bfn or bfp, but I'm late almost a week, my doc said call if I'm 2w late....i hate waiting. Have you taken your kids to any of the pumpkin patches yet?

tell me more about the mums coming back...i though once they flowered that was it, like annuals, you mean you bought yours last year and they came back this year? that is totally awesome...in that case i must get some!

I have not taken them to a pumpkin patch...i can't believe they are starting already, which one do you recommend? I am interested in taking th em to do the sleep Under the Stars thing...well really my hubby would take the two oldest and I would stay behind with the little one...what do you think?

Have you given Freecycle another shot yet? Let me know what name you will use on there if it is different...mine is coolplantings...just because I though coolmama would sound a bit like me declaring myself as a bonafied MILF...LOL! and since I'm so into gardening, i added plantings to cool and viola! take care...talk to you soon.

How about live chat? does this site have one?

Hey there, I don't think I ever caught your first name?

About the mums they aren't an annual they are a perennial. They will come back each year whether planted in ground or planter. Now the planter I kept close to the house to keep it warm and also the snow pack covered it for most of the colder part of last winter. You can 'pluck' them to keep from getting too big or just let them go wild. They prefer sun but will do ok in shade (it actually keeps their flowers color stronger) it's a strange flower but also hearty. They have lots of different ones to choose from now. I do love to garden have alot of tips and things, we used to have a veggie garden also where I used to live and roses, hostas, sunflowers, black eyed susans, sweet william, grape hyaciths, reg hyaciths, daffodils, you name I've probably tried to grow it!! lol

Have fun at sleep under the stars, we've never actually done it, but are avid campers, we like to go camping...lol you should also go and take the little one, he'd love it too.

I did check out my freecycle membership, you are through the yahoo groups to get to the delaware one? I am. my name there is shllybeans...same as here. I did look yesterday not alot of interest for me, but I do have a few items I could list and get rid of!!

Have a great one, maybe we can talk offline some other way, are you linked with any messanger service? I'm on msn and aol....let me know

Oh I forgot to comment on the orchards...there are three close by that are nice, one is little and not alot to do for the kids....they are Linvilla Orchards in PA, not far...Ramsey Farm off rt 100 near Concord Mall and Milburn Orchards, in MD again not that far. Each of them has a website with dates and activities going on at each. Hope you have fun!!

Sorry about that, i did not realize that we were not emailing each other, as my name is included in my email address!

My name is Niurys and is pronounced nearest, without the t. thanks about the info about the orchards, i will have to check them out...as for sleep under the stars, I'm gonna have to try again next year because I mom just let me know that a friend of hers is having a huge birthday party complete with clown, elmo and games and prizes...in Jersey on the 15th as well.

I asked the kids what they prefer to do and they picked the party because they don't get to go to many parties, and they know they are going to have a ball, next year they will be older and i think I can take all three without any problems...nice talking to you...take care!

Wow how great for the kids, I'm sure they would love that more than sleeping under the stars... It was a great weekend, I did lots of yard work finally, got four huge mums and planted them in planters around the yard, it looks great. Also got some Halloween decorations out and put them out also. This weekend I'm not sure of the weather but we would like to hit the orchard ourselves. I would like to pick apples to make some pies. and get a pumpkin or two. I love halloween and fall it's probably my favorite time of year!!

Did you ever check out the mums yet?

Well, I tlked to some of my friends at the gardencenter and found out that there is a dirrence in mums, some are sold as pot mums and some as garden mums, the garden mums are hardy...i guess that means they are perenials...I deffinately would love to get some if they come back every year. I usually don't like to spend money on seasonal flowers.

Although this summer, which was my first true gardening expirience, I got some Zinnias from a garden friend and they looked great the entire summer, as a matter of fact they are still in bloom, so they have given me a lot or enjoyment...butterflies like them.

I have collected many many seeds from them, so next year I will grow my own...i also enjoy biennials because they reseed and act just like perenials, like hollyhocks and foxgloves...I love talking garden, can you tell?

I need to go to the orchards with the boys, i bet they would love it, i still have not decorated, in the next couple of days for sure!!

Take care...talk to you soon!
