Default San Antonio

We are visiting San Antonio/Padre Island in June for vacation.
Was wondering if you could give any tips on great places (reasonable as we are a family of 5!) to eat,
things that we should not miss, and things that really we could pass by.

Thanks in advance!

My brother used to live in San Antonio. Before we moved here we lived in Texas and would visit them there. Mostly we hung out at their house, so I can't be very helpful! Riverwalk was nice. I would recommend doing that. Lots of restaurants on the river. We did the Alamo. And went to Schlitterbahn. I've heard Fredricksburg is fabulous. We never made it up there. As you can see, I'm not that helpful! But I'm sure you will have fun!

Sharon,

Hi... I'm Ruby and I live in the Rio Grande Valley and South Padre Island is like an hour drive from where I live. I've also been to San Antonio that's like a 4 hour drive from where I live! I've gone to the Alamo, Fiesta Texas & the river walk in San Antonio. Just like carrieglen mentioned the riverwalk is nice especially at night! South Padre Island has a Schlitterbahn which isn't as big as the one in New Braunfels but it's decent. I highly recommend riding the banana at the beach! If you want to know anything else just ask.

Ruby

I live about two hours from San Antonio and have been there many times.

Things to do in the area:

Fiesta Texas - amusement park
Sea World - of course you know what that is but it also has a water park now
Schlitterbahn - located in New Braunfels and is a must do
Natural Bridge Caverns - near the area
Outlet malls - in New Braunfels and San Marcos (you could stock up on clothes)
The Riverwalk - in San Antonio
The Alamo

Enjoy!

Hey I live in New Braunfels! Schliterbahn is a must do, however I would definitely stay at a hotel in San Antonio, rates are outrageous here. Trust me I know I work at one of the hotels here. Anyways, Fiesta Texas is pretty awesome, but make sure you buy your tickets in advance, there much cheaper if you do. The Riverwalk is nice, as well as the Alamo, and the downtown area in general!
