MN Get Together/Pot Luck Picnic

When: Sunday, August 8th, 2004 12noon-?
Where: Como Park (Directions to location below)
Why: To have tons of fun with other TTCers from MN!

Bring something to share for a potluck picnic lunch as well as a chair, drinks for your family, plates, eating utensils, and a blanket or something to sit on! I also thought it'd be fun if we brought some fun outside "toys" to play with, such as frisbees, those velcro "mits" that you use to catch a ball, etc.

We will be meeting right on Como Lake. There is a beautiful shaded area there, a walking path for anyone interested, a Gathering building (just in case), and is almost right outside the Zoo. To get there go North on Lexington Parkway until you reach the Como Park area. The meeting place is right off of Lexington Parkway. If you are looking to the left, you'll pass Kaufman Dr....to the right there will be a beautiful "Fairy" type water fountain that looks like this: Turn into that drive way circle area and park in the parking lot. If you go under the white bridge, you've gone too far. We will be meeting by the torpedo that looks like this:
If you are in the parking lot, the fountain will be on your right...keep walking straight and you'll see the torpedo ahead of you a little ways. My husband and I will be there a little early so you can look for us! I'll bring nametags for everyone! Sounds great! I'll be there, and I'll try to convince dh to come too! I'm sure if I tell him other hubby's will be there, he will agree to come!

Should we say what we are planning to bring for food so we don't end up with the same or similar of everything? I could bring a crock pot of baked beans! And maybe some hot dogs and buns.

Feel free to post this wherever you know of other MN's. I just posted it in the 2 places I post where Midwest gals get together! I PM'd a few others that I knew were from MN that I post with sometimes.

I think that's a good idea to post what we will bring, however I don't know how the logistics of that would work. Seeing as we all post all over, it'd be hard to have a central list that everyone would see. If you have an idea, by all means let me know or start it up. I was thinking of bringing maybe a fruit salad or something like that.

I am glad you are excited about everyone getting together! The more the merrier is right! Good luck convincing DH to come.

Oh, DH is coming! I was so surprised that he up and said yes as soon as I asked him! Usually he doesn't want to have anything to do with my computer "crap"! But I suppose that's usually stuff I do with ebay and Days of our Lives that he's not interested in. I guess when he realized it was meeting other TTCers, he was all for it...especially since he's always trying to get me to socialize!

I am really looking forward to this! But I really don't know how to get everyone to say what they will bring. I guess whatever is there, we'll eat it, right?

Ooooo! I'll be right in the middle of the 2WW on 8 dpo on that day! Just a little warning...dh often talks like I am pg before we even know for sure...at least he has in the recent past! But maybe he'll be different this time. I don't know, I can get pretty obsessive too, but hey! who doesn't, right?

I drove over to Como the other day...I work near there...and found the fountain, but didn't see the torpedo. But I am assuming it's near that partially open building where they have plays and concerts at? I saw Greece there last August with my work's rec group.

I don't know who's all coming? Do you? All I know is you, me, and Amy. Keri was going to come but can't due to a funeral.

The torpedo is kind off near the walking trail by the lake. I'll watch for you and Amy there. IF it rains, Heaven forbid, I've got two options where we can go instead that aren't too far from Como.

I looked at your chart, it's looking pretty nice! I hope you get your much deserved BFP this cycle! Good luck!

Well, I just looked at your chart, and It looks like you just found out a few days ago and got your !!! ! What a wonderful surprise! I'm so happy for you!

So it sounds like just the 3 of us, huh? Well, our hubby's too! Well that's okay! Maybe I won't do a big baked beans thing. But they do have grills outside don't they? So maybe I'll just grab som hot dogs and brats and buns and we can do it that way...have ourselves a little cookout!

I REALLY hope you check this before you leave!!! In this spot there are NO GRILLS! I'm sure we can find a grill somewhere, but I didn't see any around this spot.

Ok, I can remedy that! I'll bring the crock pot and use that for the hot dogs and brats. I'll just get the precooked brats. That should work! Thanks for letting me know!
