Default Just A Quickie

'Cause my house is a mess and I'm in dire need of a shower. (Like I had to share.)

The girls are doing well but are a challenge. Neither has been sleeping much this last week. We're all grumpy and overtired. Rebecca is taking her frustration out on everything. Rachel just screams. Other than that, they're cuties.

Scott's still the same.

I'm starting my new position at my job. I'm getting off the phones. Yay. My official title is "claims research specialist". Fancy way of saying any time a claim is booted, I have to figure out why. I start next Monday.

Rebecca starts school full time on the 1st. Her speech has just exploded, but she's still behind. I got her registered on Thursday. $55 dollars for her school fees and yearbook. (Yes, I bought her a yearbook!) We got a supply list in the mail on Friday. Oh, that's not going to be fun. There's the snack fee and the milk fee and a laundry list of things we need to buy.

Off to tackle the front room. (And drool over Steve Watson on Monster House.) Can't wait to read some more updates!!!!!!!

That stinks that the girls aren't sleeping well for you lately. Wonderful news on Becca talking a lot more. How fun for her to be starting school! I bet she will have so much fun! What has Rachel been up to besides screaming? Is she walking yet, saying anything, etc?

Regan has been walking for 3 weeks now. He is at the point where he can even turn around and stand up well without assistance. He seems so little to be walking around. He had his 1 year check-up today and he weighs 20 lbs 9 oz and was 29 1/2 inches long. That is 50% for height and only 15% for weight. He just started saying "ruff ruff" when you ask him what a dog says. It doesn't sound like ruff ruff, but we know that's what he's trying to say. Other than that he says, mama, dada, oh, and yea. He claps, blows kisses, gives the BEST hugs (he will actually throw his arms around your neck and squeeze with all his might), waves bye bye, and dances to music.

Brooklyn is still her chatty self. Always talking about something, I have NO idea where she gets it from! She starts school I think on the 14th. She is so excited to be going back and I must admit, it will be nice to have some alone time with Regan for 2 1/2 hours, 3 days a week. She loves to torture Regan, always grabbing onto him and not letting go. He gets so frustrated and she won't let him go even when he is screaming his poor little head off.

Well it's late and I should be getting to bed. It was great hearing an update from you, Ruth! I miss you around here, you need to stop in more often!

Hi, Ruth! It's good to see you! I'm sorry to hear that the girls aren't sleeping well right now. This too, shall pass, right? In the meantime, I hope you and Scott can get a little shut-eye here and there. I'm glad that Rebecca's therapy is going so well! Hope she has fun at school and you enjoy your new position!

Well, for my update.... We are still living at George's parents' house for the time being and George still hasn't found a job yet. Things are going very well though, considering. George just put in an application here at the university for an Academic Advisor position so we are crossing our fingers and everything else we can cross that he will get it. I am 25 weeks preggers today! I go in for my GTT in two weeks and I hope I pass the hour one so I don't have to screw around taking the 3 hour one like I did with Peter. Peter is doing great! He is talking and repeating up a storm. It's hard to believe that I was so worried about his lack of speech not to long ago. He is really funny too, just the things he comes up with and does. I wish he were potty trained, but I'm sure it will happen in time. We are having a hard time getting him to listen to us, as well. But, I suppose I don't know any 3 year olds that do everything they are told without question.

Rachel is walking and trying to run. She waves and claps whenever she sees me. Her words are mama, dada, kee (for Keesha), doll, I do, bub (bubble or bottle) and boom. Her newest game is playing baby possum. Whenever I'm holding her and someone approaches her, she puts her head down on my shoulder. She'll also do that when trying to sleep. (She won't sleep on me though.) She'll put her head up. I'll say "shhhh!" and she duck her head and giggle. It's hysterical.

Rebecca does the same thing to Rachel that Brooklyn does to Regan. Too funny. Sounds like both kids are doing great. I couldn't figure out why Rebecca was having trouble talking.....it's not like I don't do it.

Julie, I hope your GTT goes well. Ick. I had to do the three hour twice. Ended up boarderline failing the second time. And it sounds like Peter is doing great. I hope George finds a job soon.

Thanks for the update, Ruth. SOrry to hear your kiddies arent sleeping. I went through that a few months ago and it sucks. And I didnt even have to go in to a job every morning and function. I feel for you!
Good luck with your new position.

Sounds like it doesnt matter what age the kids are, they always annoy eachother. Emily and John are the same as your kids (Ruth and Amy). She's constantly holding him, hugging him, or pushing him. He screams and she laughs.....drives me crazy.

Julie, sorry to hear George hasnt gotten a job yet. I hope this one he applied for works out!

I forgot to mention about school. How cool that she's starting school. I bet she'll love it.
Emily starts next week. Just 2 mornings a week. Isnt it hard to believe that so many of our "babies" are starting school this fall??
