HI... I currently live in southeast texas but my husband is being looked at for a job in Wausau, WI. I don't really want to live "IN" Wausau, so whats my next best choice? Any other advice, opinions would be greatly appreciated also.

I am not from the Wausau area, but if you are moving from Texas do you know how cold it can get here? I am not familiar with the Texas climate but I know it gets to sub zero temps here, if not temps the wind chill will be.

Hey, I live in Wausau! Is there a reason you dont want to live in Wausau? I mean, what are you looking for outside of Wausau? Maybe if I know that than I can help tell you about the surrounding areas, though most are almost the same as Wausau. Or are you looking for a more out in the country type place?

dh & I used to live in Wisconsin - we lived there for a year and LOVED it - but were too far away from our families (MT & ND) as we are ready to start our family!

We lived in Sun Prairie the first few months we were there & loved the "small" town feeling -we then moved to Middleton which it on the opposite side of Madison! we loved it - althought we were BASICALLY in Madison -

I worked in Verona which is a small town south of Madison - also seems to have the small town feel
just a little personal experience for you -
