There doesn't seem to be many of us Nevadan's out here! Like I said in my earlier post I live in Vegas (Henderson really), but I do have family in Reno. Two of my cousins as well as my brother-in-law live there. It's so nice up there, especially the Tahoe area! Also, I noticed your married to a cop. I'm married to a firefighter!

Yes - it is great up here. I love it. I have several friends who live in your area and they say Vegas is awesome. How neat that we are both "civil servant's" wives! My best friend's husband is a firefighter up here and he and my husband get along great.

I wonder if the other "State" boards are as quiet as Nevada's. I have to think there are a bunch of us Nevadans on these boards who just haven't found us!

Hi Laura! We are really close! My best friend (who got me hooked on these boards) lives in Carson...she just had her baby in June (a preemie). He is doing really well. Did you grow up around here?

Melissa - I think you are right. Way may just have a bunch of "closet" Nevadans out there!!

Nope i grew up in Spokane, WA and have been here in carson for almost 4 years.

Oh - how do you like Carson? I have to say, it is not my favorite of this area. I grew up in Minden, moved to Reno for college...Carson was always just that town I drove through to get from one to the other!!

Where exactly is Minden? It's up North too, right?

Minden is about 50 miles south of Reno. In between Reno and Minden is Carson City. Minden is beautiful. The Sierra mountain range ends in the Carson Valley (where Minden and Gardnerville are) and the mountains are spectacular!

Yes minden/gardnerville is BEAUTIFUL! Carson isnt that bad. Just have to find the beauty in it

LOL - that is true Laura. DH grew up in Carson and his parents live in Lakeview - they came SOOO close to losing their house in the Waterfall Fire. It was within 100 yards of them. So lucky

Anywhere is prettier than Vegas. I love Vegas, but it's not a pretty place in my opinion. There are quite a few pretty places within a short drive (Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Mount Charleston), but I don't see that on a day to day basis.

Oh thanks - I figured out last night that my digital camera (which I have had for 2 years) can take black and white and Sepia tone pics! I'm a moron I guess for not figuring that out sooner!!

Anyway, made DH pose for a "sheknows" portrait!!
