Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
I do so hope this board gets some visitors....and I would love to see even just a brief post from you all.
I used to host the TTC 12+ months board, was a regular on the TTC IVF board, and then hosted the PG after IF board (all as "wishingbabe"), and I hope many of the grads from those boards find their way over here, along with anyone else that wants to visit and share stories of their precious babies, or their struggles to become parents.
As my siggy says Mason came to me after TTC 4 years and 1 IVF. He is the light of my life....an absolute little gem....and quite the little devil at the moment as he crawls around exploring the house and pulling himself up on everything! I almost can't remember what it was like BM (Before Mason!!).....well actually I do remember the heartache and bitter disappointment...but that has now been tucked into a distant corner of my memory.
best wishes

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
AJ what a great idea! I used to post on the 12+ board and we were really close to the 2+ mark when we got pregnant with moo. I used to be TTCWALDOGIRL (kim) I guess I still am Kim.
I had to go back to work and I am hoping once DH is done with his MBA (April) that he will find another job and I can stay at home. I hate working and my favorite part of everyday is seeing Morgan smile and giggle when I go to pick her up. I do have a wonderful babysitter for which I am grateful. I have to travel at the end of the week and I am dreading not seeing her for so long.
Morgan is the silliest and happiest baby I have ever seen. She loves to play and giggle and pet our Boston Terrier (my mom calls her a Boston Terrorist). She is not a cuddly baby but she loves to see all the action going on around her. She loves to eat table food and although it make me nervous to feed her, she really does not give me a choice. I had her six month appointment today, but after taking time off work and driving all the way over there, I had to reschedule. I am excited to see how much she weighs. She has her bottom two teeth and she is really mobile when it comes to rolling. She loves to raspberry and she (I SWEAR) sings along to radio disney or anyother pop station. There goes all my radiohead and travis.
My mother in law comes in next weekend. I will need this board to vent all my frustrations! Sorry this turned longer than I expected.

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
I was Bakersbears on the old IVF boards as well as doner boards.
DH and I were TTC for 4 years. I donated my eggs to help pay for our IVF. On that cycle they got 13 eggs all of which we donated. On the next cycle I did what they called a "shared" cycle. This is where we would only keep half of the eggs they retrieved and donate the other half. On that cycle they got 44 eggs. Needless to say I suffered hyperstimmed ovaries. We put back 3- 8 cell embies on day 3. All of them took and then two went on to have heartbeats and the third was reabsorbed. We currently have 9 frozen embies and are undecided on what we are going to do with them. I had a very rough preg and we are fairly sure we are done with two. Looking back it was the best thing we have ever done and I would do it all over again for these two little kiddo's.
My kids were born at 32.5 weeks and stayed 3.5 weeks in NICU. They have done wonderful every since. They have been very healthy and now have two teeth on the bottom and william has one on top. They are working on sitting on thier own and both are crawling. Their newest trick is pulling each others hair. I spend all day doing ground patrol. They are functioning at their due date age. So all their milestones are delayed about 2 months. Which is completly normal for preemies.
Whew! OK I guess that's about all I can think of (for now). I can't wait to catch up with all of you!

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
Hi, I guess I can post here.
I am Sharon, mom to Sam (17) Micale (11) from a previous marriage and Dave and I's wonderful miracle Grant (2)
We TTC 5 years, 5 failed IUI, was setting up to do an IVF, and got PG.
DR cant explain why, they were shutting my system down, I just say God has a wonderful sense of humor.
Infertility after 2 children is very difficult, people just dont get why you want to do it again.......

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
How exciting.....3 replies so far!!!!
Welcome to all of you.
Of course I remember you Kim....though wouldn't have recognised you from your new UserName! So glad you found this board and hope to see you often (as often as having a littlie and working allows). I too am back at work, (since Mason 6mths) and wish I wasn't. I miss Mason so much when away from him, he took so long to "make" that I begrudge missing even an hour of his life! So far I've been lucky enough to take Wednesday's off....at least until he turns 1. I hope you are able to stay at home once April comes around. btw when MIL arrives....vent away!!!!!
Angi I laughed at you mentioning "ground patrol"....it's a bit like that for us too. Though we only have one, so it's just the dog and Mason's own head we have to protect! and when we go visiting.....he is always so eager to reach out and bang the other babies YIKES! I really love the photos in your siggy....your babies are so adorable.
and a new face....welcome Sharon, you certainly can post here! I'm so glad you were finally able to create your little miracle Grant. I can only imagine how frustrating and sad it must have been to have 2 older children, and then not be able to have a baby with your 2nd husband....and I bet you had to suffer people saying "at least you have Sam & Micale", that would have been hard. I look forward to getting to know you.
and speaking of secondary IF....I wonder if UKJane will find us?????? I wonder how she and her little girl are doing......
best wishes to all

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
I'll chime in!
My name is Anja (or Ani) I was on the TTC 2+ board under the name AniC. My wonderful daughter Riley was born Easter Sunday this year. We TTC for almost 2 years -DH had varocele which was surgically corrected. We got pg 2 cycles after the surgery. We are hoping that our next try will be much easier and are going to start in the spring. I'm not getting any younger, after all, and who knows how long it will take. I'm not sure I can handle another battle with infertility so we will see!
Ms. Riley is such an amazing little being-she fills my heart up every single minute!
Congrats to you all-so glad to have this board!

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
My name is Alisa, we were TTC for two years before we got PG after IVF#1. We were incredibly lucky!! Our issues are MF. We have two frozen embryos left and I would like to try to use them even though DH's sperm count is up enough to try other options. I was thinking of trying next Spring but now I am not sure if maybe I need a break to get our life stable again (finances/schedule/etc.) Our little guy's name is Keegan and he is 8 months old. He is very cuddly and lovey but also has an independent streak. He is crawling like a fiend and more importantly pulling himself up to standing. That means we just put away all of the knick knacks and such to keep him from using them as projectiles or teething rings. He is alot of fun and I have enjoyed him since the minute we got our positive HCG report. I had a wonderful pregnancy until the end when I developed PUPPP (a hideous rare pregnancy rash) and then I was induced due to low amniotic fluid. Despite all that I am definitely looking forward to doing it all over again. Except for of course the shots. Ugh. I have been home all this time since I was laid off from work right before I did my IVF cycle, so unfortunately I have to find a job. I have spent the last couple of weeks touring daycare centers but I know no matter how wonderful a place is, it will still be torture to leave my precious smiley face.
Glad to see you all again and meet the new people too!

Re: Tell us about yourself/your child(ren)
Hello, everyone!!
I'm Karen (41), and my hubby is David (46 and a wonderful man!). After 8 grueling years of infertility treatments, including 4 IVFs, I gave birth to my beautiful son, Zak, on 6/4/04, one day after my 16th wedding anniversary!! (My water actually broke on our anniversary!)
It's been quite challenging, and absolutely wonderful being a new mom! I work part time, and have a house full of feline furries (9 to be exact). We just moved into our first home, and my life couldn't be more complete!!
I'm a bit ecclectic. I love home crafts and cooking. I'm into UFOs, gardening, and wildlife conservation. I look forward to meeting all of the nice people here at this BB! (I'm also posting on the 40 and over parenting BB)
