Recalled: Babies' bodysuits by J.C. Penney

THURSDAY, April 28 (BabyCenter News) — J.C. Penney is recalling 228,818 of its Okie Dokie infant and newborn bodysuits in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The appliqué on the front of the garment can come off, and babies can choke in it.

The recalled bodysuits are striped, multicolored, 100-percent cotton, and have a heat-sealed, puffy appliqué of a lion, teddy bear, fish, police car, race car, or cement mixer on the front. There's also an appliqué on the side of the garment. The bodysuits were sold in newborn sizes (0 to 9 months) and infant sizes (12 to 24 months). The words "Okie Dokie" are sewn in the neckline of the body suits.

J.C. Penney sold the recalled bodysuits in its department stores from October 1, 2004 to March 8, 2005 for approximately $5.99. The infant sizes were also available through J.C. Penney's Web site. The recalled items were made in China.
