Recalled: Walker Wagons by Radio Flyer

TUESDAY, July 26 (BabyCenter News) — Radio Flyer is recalling approximately 38,000 of its Classic Walker Wagons in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The tips of the clickers, which make a clicking sound when the toy movies, can break off, and young children can choke on them. Radio Flyer has received 11 reports of the tips breaking off, but isn't aware of any injuries at this time.

The recalled Walker Wagon is intended for children 1 to 4 years old. It has a push handle and removable wooden sides. It's 22 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 16 1/2 inches high at the top of the handle. The wagon's body is red; the words "Radio Flyer" are written in white lettering on each side. The recalled wagons have black plastic clickers between the rear wheels and the wagon. Walker Wagons with clear plastic clickers are not included in this recall.

Toy stores, department stores, discount stores, catalogs, and Web retailers sold the recalled wagons from August 2003 through May 2005 for about $80. They were made in China.

Recalled: 1.8 million kids' metal folding chairs

FRIDAY, July 29 (BabyCenter News) — Three companies — Idea Nuova, Fourstar Group, and Meco — have recalled approximately 1.8 million children's folding chairs in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The safety locks on the chairs can fail, causing them to collapse or fold unexpectedly. Children's fingers can get caught or trapped in the hinge and slot areas of the chair, posing a risk of pinching, cuts, and fingertip amputations. Each of the companies has received reports of children being injured while using the chairs.

All of the recalled children's folding chairs are metal with vinyl-padded seats and seat backs, and were made in China. Other details about the recalled chairs vary.

Idea Nuova's 1.1 million recalled children's folding chairs were sold as part of a table and two-chair set. Each chair is about 22 inches high, 13 inches wide, and about 11 inches deep. The chairs came in eight styles with the following words and designs:

• "Monkey Moods" features monkey faces and stars
• "Rock n Roll" features a monkey playing a guitar
• "Princess" features pink flowers and a crown
• "Sport" features a football, basketball and soccer ball design
• "Training Camp" features frogs
• "Rainbow Angel" features clouds, rainbows and stars
• "Spiderman" features the famous comic book hero
• "Disney Princess" features three of Disney's princess characters

The words "Idea Nuova Inc." or "I.N.I." appear on a label under the chairs' seats. Discount department and toy stores nationwide sold the Idea Nuova table and chair sets from September 2004 through June 2005 for between $15 and $25.

Fourstar Group's 522,000 recalled folding chairs were sold either individually or as part of a set with a table. Each chair is about 22 inches high, 13.5 inches wide, and about 11.5 inches deep. The chairs came in solid red, blue, yellow, green, pink, and lavender; in pink with the word "Princess" printed in red on the seat and seat back along with stars, crowns and hearts; or in blue with pictures of basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, football helmets, and rollerblades. The words "MANUFACTURED BY FOURSTAR GROUP INC." or "IMPORTED BY FOURSTAR INTERNATIONAL TRADING COMPANY" are on a label under the chairs' seats. Discount and grocery stores nationwide sold the chairs from July 2003 through July 2005 for about $5 individually, or about $25 for a table-and-chair set.

Meco's 175,000 recalled chairs were sold as part of a table and four-chair set and are solid red, blue, yellow, or green. Each chair is about 22 inches high, 10 inches wide, and about 11 inches deep. The word "Meco" or "Samsonite" is printed on the label under the seat. Furniture and wholesale club stores nationwide sold the recalled Meco chairs from July 2003 through May 2005 for between $25 and $40.

What you can do
