Default Teaching them Responsibility.....

ok, so I personally believe that teaching our children responsibility is a very very important thing.
And I'm interested to know how this looks in YOUR family!!

I know chores is a good start, but beyond that, what do you do?
how do you teach them to be responsible for things like: not destroying toys, keeping their rooms clean, respecting other's stuff, telling the truth, being accountable for their actions and not blaming others, etc.

I think children need to learn very early on what responsibility is, or else IMO they grow up to be leeches on society, expecting everyone else to do stuff for them, and a hand out from the government, they think they are entitled to get stuff, and not have to earn it.

I realize that this is a lil beyond the scope of *just* responsibility, but I believe that is where it starts, and I really want to hear what works for you all!!
And how you handle things, and what your methods are!
Thanks!!
