Anyone know much about Mastitis? I had it 2 wks ago after my nips got terribly torn up from nursing. I ran high fever, had chills, pain in bbs (mostly the right one). My Ob put me on antibiotics for one week and that seemed to knock it up. Once my nips healed up, I started easing back in to nursing. Well, 2 days ago I noticed I had some blood blisters on them and my right breast was hurting when nursing. At 4am this morning my entire breast hurt terribly while NK nursed and I noticed I had hot spots in it. By 6am I was laying in the bed shivering. I got up and took my temp... 101. I know it's another (or the same one?) breast infection. I had a couple of antibiotic capsules in the med. cabinet, so I started those and I'm taking Tylenol every 4 hrs. I'm so afraid I'm going to have to give up breast feeding. I just can't keep going through these infections and fevers. Has anyone here had this much trouble? I'd appreciate any advice. I just don't know what to do.
