Default Another trip to the doctor's office

For Quinn.

For the last couple of weeks Quinn has had a little cough, some stuffiness and drippiness. I assumed the cough was caused by post-nasal drip and wasn't too worried about it until the last few days it seemed to get worse. Oh, and a very low-grade fever (99.8).

And then Wednesday night I was up until 2 AM with Quinn and Carter was up from 2:45 AM til the morning. She just couldn't sleep more than 30-45 minutes at a time. And that when being held. She'd wake with a cry or a snuffle or whatever and couldn't put herself back to sleep.

I was worried the congestion had gone down into her chest, so we called the doctor's office and they said come on in.

So, she got a complete check ... ears, eyes, throat. All good. BEE-U-TEE-FULL, actually. The doctor said he thought it would be her ears, but they were perfect (which he then indirectly attributed to breastfeeding).

And then told me that the cough, the booger, the boogers, the boogers, and the mild fever were all caused by ... teething.

Even the congestion??? YES. I had no freaking idea that teething could cause nasal congestion! And Celeste ... well, suffice it to say she had NOTHING like this when she started teething. She never even peeped until the day before the teeth emerged.

So. He told us we could use Benadryl to dry up some of the congestion and tylenol to help with the pain.

And last night, on about 1/2 dose of Benadryl (most was vomited up ... I think the spoon hit her vomit spot) (Plus children's Benadryl tastes really gross) Quinn slept until 3 am. Not her typical 4 am, but about a billion times better than every 30 minutes, eh?
