Default Question regarding D&Cs

It looks like many of us have had a D&C so I wanted to ask you all a silly question that you probably won't be able to answer.

My hubby is self-employed so we carry our own insurance, which isn't very good. My doctor visits are covered, and inpatient hospitalizations are covered, but out-patient procedures are not. Do you know what that means? It means a successful pregnancy would be covered 100% but a miscarriage is not covered at all. Well, it's applied to my deductible and then I pay 20% after that. Would you believe that the D&C I just had cost more than $10,000? I don't even think a regular vaginal delivery would cost that much!

Anyway, I'm going to end up responsible for a few thousand dollars of that. Talk about getting kicked when you're down!

My question is this: is there a cheaper way of taking care of a missed miscarriage? Does anyone know if there's a drug I can ask my doctor for that will make me miscarry naturally? Or, if I were truly desperate, I might even consider an abortion clinic. I refuse to believe that all women who want abortions are paying upwards of $10,000 for them. There's got to be a cheaper way to get this done.

I know this is a really morbid question but I am just so frustrated that I not only lost the baby I wanted so badly, but now I'm stuck with huge medical bills to boot. I'm now TTC again and I'm terrified of another miscarriage, not just because of the loss, but because we can't afford it! Ironic, huh? I can afford to have a child, but I can't afford to lose one.

Anyone have any info they wouldn't mind sharing? TIA.
