Default Any one had a MC like this?

Hi Ladies,

Last year June I found out I was PG and boy was that exciting, by my calculations I was on my 5th week. I made an apintment with my Gyn, which could only on the 8th week, so I waited. Mean while I got all the symptoms! You name them... peed every 2 hours; morning sickness; heavy tooth ache; sore brests; nausea; cravings; couldn't see some foods; hiper sensitive smell; etc...
Then the apintment ame, I was very nervous. When she did the US she found the placenta but no embreo. Then she gave me the bad news: I had to abort!
Apparently, the egg I launched did not let the spem develope (divide, and so on). The placente was growing, but had no embreo inside (or anywhere).
I have checked the internet for information or an explinations, but found hardly any! The only thing I founsd was, that these eggs have no genetic information and that's why they don't let the sperm cell divide.
But why do these eggs form?
If this has happened to any one, please share your knowlage. I would like to know what happened, so that in the future I can avoid it - if possible.
Thanks

Hi!
Not sure if you are still around looking for someome to help, but thought I would share my experience.
I was at 13 weeks, going in for my first ultrasound. Very excited and ready for the heartbeat after weeks of extreme nausea and pregnancy symptoms. We got in there, and she found the gest. sac, but it was empty!! She called it a blighted ovum, and sent me up to the ER. I was crushed! She said she was suprised I had gone on for that long, since you will usually m/c these much earlier on.
Since I have had 4 more m/c, and am in the process of going through another. My doctor tells me that I too, am releasing empty eggs it appears.

Have you ever been looked at for PCOS? That is part of my problem, however I have been going untreated with it hence my continued problems. Many times with the PCOS, you produce many eggs that are not ready, but since your ovulation is so off they do not always fully form (among many other problems). Also, have they done any genetic screening on you yet? That might help. Sometimes they can put you on some medication, and things work out. Good Luck!!
