This is my mother-in-law's maiden name and we were thinking of using it as a first name (and possibly calling the baby Elle)...but our big concern is that it does not sound white. I know this sounds racist, but we don't want our child to dislike the name for that reason later in life, and we do live in the south. I searched on Facebook, and there are a lot of black male Lavelles...thoughts?
