Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
well i need some input and comfort. my temps were looking good and then just bottomed out 11pdo. i started spotted and then had full on arrive. i called my new OB knowing full well that a LP of 11 days isn't long enough. the nurse i talked with was an idiot. i love my new doc, have zero tolerance for his office staff. she said it was completely okay. despite how many times i told her she thinks my shorter cycle was due to ovulating earlier. i kept telling her no, i ovulated the same time i always have. my LP was shorter. she didn't even understand the term luteal phase. this is a nurse not a receptionist. so DH and I talked and we're off to see the elite fertility docs in town. i called and got an appt right away. so maybe IUI or even IVF, i haven't got a clue. do you think we're making the right call?

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
Yes you are doing the right thing.
TTC, Getting Pregnant, having a baby....is there anything more important in the world??????
It's WAY to big of a deal to have someone treat you like it doesn't matter.
Do what makes you and DH feel comfortable and this doctor's office doesn't sound like they are doing it.
at your appointment. Keep us posted!!

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
I just recently went to an RE - I have ovulation issues, leading to inconsistent LP and varying cys. I wasn't sure if going to the specialist was jumping the gun, and I was so nervous going. When I got there, I felt completely validated. He immediately understood what was going on, talked to me about percentages, made suggestions for the right way to go. I have a bunch of tests I have to do over the next few weeks, but I felt so much better after meeting with this doctor. We havea good plan of action, and I'm really ready to move forward.
So . . . if you are having doubts, a good fertility specialist is the right way to go! Even if all they do is tell you that you don't need their help! But, I have a feeling the doctor will be quite helpful.

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
Thanks ladies. I just have this gut intuition that my right tube doesn't work. It's open but I don't think its functioning. DH isn't going to be able to go as the appt is in the middle of the day so I'm thinking of dragging my mom or BF along.

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
The 1st RE I saw serveral years ago said that the true precentage of getting pregnant was so small that it was a miracle anyone did. I said that doesnt explain the ones that say just sperm or sex and get pregnant the next day and she laughed.
It took me 9 IUI trys after and MC to get pregnant again so hang in . I was on high dose meds and the timing of the last IUI hit that miracle part.
Keep believing, keep dreaming and keep trying.

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
Im so sorry. the nurse sounds like an adiot!
RE sounds like a good idea, but i also think starting progesterone suppositories at o time could be useful. I cant see what your temps were, but if they were clearly indicating that you o'd, then maybe prog to lengthen the cycle and thicken the uterine lining (clomid can thin it) could be a good step.
Another cycle or 2 of clomid, maybe at 100mg, with the prog..... we gotta get that lp longer or iui /ivf wont work i wouldnt imagine. The lining will still shed prematurely.

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
i think progesterone is the way to go as well. i had DH call back to the my OBs office and pull the whole doctor thing. hi this is dr...calling for dr... the nurse refused to run his question past the doc. DH said next time we're in we need to tell my new OB. his personal opinion is that he yells at his nurses when they do this, as does his partners, and our doc would be pretty PO if he knew. i'm just aiming for the RE to write the script at this point. i shouldn't have O'd by then so it should be okay. i've read that the shots are the best way to go so i'm actually going to ask for them and let DH torture me.

Re: Ugh Ugh and more Ugh
Nicole-
I would be happy to share my shot experiences with you. It isn't bad...just a lot of bruising. I think you need the progesterone. I would seek out the best. We drive 3 hours to Indy for my RE. He is the best in the Midwest. I don't regret that at all.
I have thought about you a lot and I think something good will happen soon! You need some answers! I would definitely talk to another doc.
Hang in there!
