Talk to Me About Evap Lines
So, now I feel like one of those people that is seeing lines everywhere. I had such a crazy cy last month, and I was SURE I was pg, but I never got a +HPT - not even an evap line to hope about. I gave up at 12 or 13DPO, and my spotting turned to a bit of bleeding. My symptoms disappeared, and then I geared up for this cy. Around CD 15, I thought I had a +OPK, but the next day it was really negative, my monitor never read peak, and I never had a temp jump. I kept taking OPKs, and I've had a lot of almost positive ones this time, which made me wonder if my PCOS is just acting up. I got another +OPK yesterday, but no peak on my monitor yesterday or today. I could swear that the monitor sticks have looked positive for days, but apparently, the monitor disagrees.
For some reason, I decided to take a HPT today along with my OPK. I have no idea what possessed me. Well, the OPK was positive again . . . . and I swear there is a faint line on the HPT, which just can't be possible. Is there anything else that can make a HPT appear positive when it isn't? I have never gotten an evap on FRER before, and this line came up within 3 minutes, but my BBT is extraordinarily low. I'm sure I haven't O'd this month . . . is there any chance I did have a chemical pregnancy, or some other weird pregnancy-related thing happen that has thrown off this cy and would still give me a super-faint line on a HPT? If I was pg, there is no way this is a viable pregnancy with a low BBT and the bleeding I had . . . just wondering if I should wait and see what happens or call my dr? I was going to call in the next week if I still didn't O, but now I'm wondering whether I should call sooner.
I'm feeling absolutely crazy . . . so any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated.

Re: Talk to Me About Evap Lines
Well, I dont know what to say really, it seems unlikely with your chart (i peeked ) that you would be pregnant.....
If you had a chemical pregnancy, there would not be enough hcg left in your system by this time to register anything. the hcg breaks down to almost zilch when you begin to miscarry. I have had one and when my hcg hit about 9, i began to bleed.... within days its gone. If you continue into a pregnancy further, then yes, it can take awhile for hcg to go away.... but once the hcg goes away, regular menses continues.....
I would say talk to the Dr about your pcos....
and PLEASE keep us updated!
*hugs*

Re: Talk to Me About Evap Lines
Thanks for the feedback, Shilo - I didn't think I was pg this cy at all since I KNEW I hadn't O'd yet. . . but I was worried that I had some kind of an ectopic pregnancy going on. I have no idea why I poas yesterday. I think I was so frustrated by all the OPKs turning and no O that I took an HPT to see if that would turn too! I do have a new theory, though. I FINALLY got my peak on my monitor today, and a huge temp drop. I was thinking that if an OPK can work as a HPT because the LH and the hcg are similar (for testing purposes), then maybe a HPT can work as an OPK? I'm thinking of staying away from OPKs next cy & just sticking with the monitor - it seems to be more accurate for me.
Anyway, I did call my dr. - if i do not get preg this cy, she is going to do a bunch of bloodwork throughout next cy to see what my lh & fsh are doing, and if that is a problem at all. I'm also supposed to go in for bloodwork in 7 days to confirm O and check out my progesterone levels.

Oh - & i forgot to say CONGRATS on your new addition!!! How are you feeling? I hope you have a speedy recovery from your C-section, get some sleep at night, and enjoy Dante.
(Boy - that was a truly awful self-absorbed moment)
