Default Laparoscopy update

I had my laparoscopy last Monday.
According to my husband, the doctor said the surgery was "a success".
They *did* find some endo. There was endo on both of my ovaries, so they "zapped" if off with the laser.
They also did the chromotubation (similar to an HSG) where they inject dye into the uterus and see if it flows freely through to the fallopian tubes and out. I didn't have any blockages, so that's great news.
I have my folllow up in 2 weeks.
I started my period in Friday, 4 days after the surgery. It has been a tough period. Cramps cramps and more cramps. Plus it is hard to differentiate between whats pain from AF and whats pain from the surgery.

Everything is apparently is shaped right (no tipped uterus).
Sooooooo...there we have it folks. The endo was mild (stage 1) and my doctor seems to think the state of my reproductive organs are tip-top.

Conditions are perfect

***ALSO...DH had an appointment at the urologist 2 weeks ago and the doctor gave him *his* opinion on the three SA's Josh had done earlier in the summer. According to Dr Urologist, Josh's count is AWESOME! Off the charts, actually. He had around 570 million in each sample. However, his motility averaged around 40%, and his morphology was around the same, 40ish%.
This is just below average (average = 50%). But Dr Urologist said he is not all that concerned about it. He said that depending on what the laparoscopy revealed, its very possible for us to conceive naturally with those numbers.
However, he did an exam and informed Josh that he has a condition in which his seminal vesicles are much larger than normal. He thinks that the size of the vesicles is affecting how well the sperm are forming, and in turn, how well they are swimming. About 10-15% of males have this condition, and there is a minor surgery to fix it.

He told us to wait and hear if they found any endomitriosis during my lap. Now that the lap has been done -- and since they did find endomitriosis and tx it, he wants us to try for about 3 months. If it doesn't happen for us by November, Dr U gave us two options:
Option A was for Josh to have the surgery to fix the seminal vesicles.
Option B is for us to do an IUI.

He said he recommends either option, and that it would be up to us.
We are "excellent candidates" for both.
So, I guess we have a little homework to do. surgery to tx DH's SV's OR IUI

I am so hopeful. I *know* it is going to happen for us. I can see it.
I can see our life.
I think things will calm down now that we have some answers.

I am so so so sos sososos so so so relieved that this surgery is behind me now.
Now I just have to heal up.
I am still pretty banged up. I wish I could speed up my recovery. Anyway. I'm getting a little better every day. And it really isn't that that bad, I suppose. I am a bit of a sissy when it comes to these things.

Just wanted to give a quick update to all my SK buddies.
I haven't been on here as much since me and DH were sentenced to the pre-surgery mandatory doctor ordered TTC "break".

I have to get caught up with all of you.
Who got a BFP since I've been away?
Meg

What great news!

I'm sure having the surgery and the testing was filled with anxiety for both you and DH. But getting such great news and so much hope has made it all worth it I'm sure.

Congratulations! Sounds like you'll be a momma before you know it

How wonderful that you can now relax and just enjoy your time before baby with your DH.

Guess the only condition you have to worry about now is impatience But, don't we all!

Sounds like great news! I hope you get that BFP this cy, long before you have to think about IUIs. A lot of people get their BFP right after a lap/hsg . . . hope that is true for you.

That sounds GREAT!!!
My hubby had an above average count with 65% motilit, but only 6% normal morph.
We got pregnant twice in a row, (lost the first one)
Having an above average count helps alot, because this means that 40% of 570 million are a ok, Read this: looks like the morph and motility are pretty bang-on too:

* the concentration of spermatozoa should be at least 20 million per ml.

* the total volume of semen should be at least 2ml.

* the total number of spermatozoa in the ejaculate should be at least 40 million.

* at least 75 per cent of the spermatozoa should be alive (it is normal for up to 25 per cent to be dead).

* at least 30 per cent of the spermatozoa should be of normal shape and form. (your d/h's was higher)

* at least 25 per cent of the spermatozoa should be swimming with rapid forward movement.

* at least 50 per cent of the spermatozoa should be swimming forward, even if only sluggishly.

I think you will be announcing a soon!

That is awesome news.....I had my Lap done on July 17th. Then went on Femara and took a trigger shoot of Ovidrel and SUCCESS!!!! I have severed endo and after each surgery I only have a short window and this time around we had all the peaces in the right place at the right time. The surgery really does make a huge difference.

I know you will get your very soon......sending you lots of

GOOD luck with everything.
