hcg is detectable as soon as implantation occurs, but in such tiny amounts that only very specific blood tests (not even the basic quantitive hcg blood tests) specially ordered by labs can detect it.
Also, implantation occuring from the tenth day onward has a much higher chance of miscarriage.
Although implantation CAN happen as late as the 10+dpo, from that point onward, you are more likely to suffer from miscarriage. So the 10-12dpo information is wrong

That being said... HCG in the blood is entirely differnt from HCG in the urine. Everyones kidneys process the excess hormone differently, and the hcg excreted from your kidneys is much less than the amount in your blood. This is why it can take longer for some women to get a +hcg on an hpt.
Best bet, wait til 10dpo, or 11dpo for the first test. And take the second two days later.
Slight pink cm is a great sign by the way!
