Icon11 Ovulation & OPK question

I would like to know if it is common to miss LH surge on opk
If you look at my chart you can have an idea of my current situation with O date
My opks keep coming back negative however we BD regurarly, but I am really confused whether to rely on OPK or NOT?

They are still negative, but my CP and CM has been very fertile.

This is my first time using opk. I use them once a day only. Sometimes the line is almost invisible sometimes it is really visible but still not positive

I would really appreciate ANY INPUT
Thanks

Hi

I have used the opk's. I have noticed that in my case... it would be very possible to miss the LH surge. I did one strip the day before yesterday and it was negative... then i did a couple yesterday and they gradually became positive. Had I not done so many yesterday.. I think I would have missed it.

I read somewhere that the surge can sometimes only last 12 hours... therefore.. I think it might be easily missed.... I am not a pro with these - just my experiences.

Good luck!!!!
Jenn

It is very easy to miss your LH surge. Unfortunately I missed mine 2 months in a row. I was always testing in the AM, just like you would with a HPT. Then I found out that your Urine is more concentrated in the afternoon about 2 pm, especially after 4 hours of holding it. So this month I tested at 2 pm every day. I also used the CBE digital kei ( not the monitor). On the other tests you have to compare lines and colors, and I think it is much easier to mess that up. On the CBE digital ones, it gives you either an empty circle, or a smiley face. As I said, I tested at 2 pm starting from day 12, and got my smiley face at CD 17, at 2 PM. Si it is easy to miss it especially if you are not testing at the right time.
Hope that helps!!!

I agree with the ladies above. I have a hard time reading the lines on the OPKs. I prefer the CB Digital OPK kit. The smiley face is great and always seems to make me happy when I see it! Everything I have read says to do it in the afternoon. I like to hold my pee at work in the afternoons and take the OPK as soon as I get home. Once I get a then I do one in the mornings until it is gone and confirm the ovulation with my temp chart. Believe me it simplifies things and doesn't stress you out as much!
