Default New with Questions

Hi Ladies,
I have gathered some tidbits from the different threads here, but I'm looking to find out more about temping. Being that I'm 42, I want to increase chances of conceiving and figured I might try the temping at this point.
Can someone tell me what temps are supposed to do when you have AF, after AF, when you O and after O? From what I've gathered, if/when I am pregnant, my temp will stay high.

I also just read that I should take my temp each morning around the same time.

Any other help with doing this is really appreciated!

Maybe this is the wrong board to ask? If so, please let me know where that kind of thing would be. Thanks!!

Each person's baseline is different. When temping before ovulation, you'll find what your baseline is. You might/might not see a dip before ovulation. After ovulation, you'll have a temperature spike. Ovulation is assumed after 3 high temps. After that, you'll stay high due to the progesterone until your menses. Some women drop right before their period, some the day of their period, others AFTER their period. It is recommended to take your temp at the same time each day to get a more accurate account of your cycle, however it can be done whenever you wake up if you work night shift as well. Make sure you have at least 3-4 hours of restful sleep before taking your temp. Insomnia, frequent trips to the potty, illness, fever, etc. will mess with your temp. Try using fertilityfriend.com. It's very helpful to those just starting out. Also, pop in on sheknows Charting group. You're more likely to find the info there than here. HTH!
