Default How late is too late?

So, I'm on cd 18 today and the OPK's are still negative (though there's finally a second line showing up, just not very dark). If I ovulate in the next week, is that too late in my cycle to get pg successfully? I've read that the endometrium might not be able to support a pregnancy if you O late, so now I'm stressing that it's taking too long! Anyone know of some BFP's following late ovulation?

Thanks!

:lurk I just wanted to say that it looks like you usually have a longer cycle. What I've heard is that the luteal phase is usually around 12-16 days, so if you O and still have that many days left in your cycle you should be fine. I'm definitely no expert, that's just what I have heard. Hope it helps.

I've had several long cy that ended up in (3 of my 5 kiddos ) looking at your charts, what I would be more concerned with is your short lp. Maybe try some b6 to get it more in the 12 to 14 day length.

Thanks for responding!! I'm so excited because I finally got a + OPK!!! I wasn't sure about it, but I tested again the next day and it was also a dark line. (I have the hardest time reading the OPK's) That and some cramping pain and I just know I ovulated yesterday! My temp rose this morning, so we'll see if it stays up there. I'm just so excited to have gotten the positive. Since DH and I have started this whole TTC journey, I've only ovulated twice that I know of and last month we missed the day! Not this time. This time we were a lot more attentive and now that we're in the 2ww, we're really hopeful.

As for B6, it's in my prenatals. And, I'm worried about the short LP, too. The doc has me doing prometrium vaginal suppositories 100mg once a day. I'm starting those today. I really hope this one does it. DH and I tried to time things better. We didn't DTD on O day, but we did the day before. Heck, I even did the whole pillow under the hips, laying in bed for 30 minutes thing. Oh, I hope it worked this time.

Yay!

most multivitamins don't have nearly enough b6. Here is an artical on it: b6 and short lp Here is a quote from it:
The RDA or DV of B6 is extremely low- only a couple of milligrams. For this reason, most women assume they're getting plenty with their multiple or prenatal vitamin. However, the dosage typically needed to correct LPD is between 50 mg and 300 mg daily. I would advise starting out with an additional 50 for an entire cycle (start supplementing as soon as you get your period and don't forget to chart or use OPKs through the cycle to see if the LP changes). If the luteal phase does not change, or does not change enough, increase another 50 or 100 for each additional cycle until correction is seen. I don't know anyone who has had to take more than 300 mg- most see a radical change under 200.
