Icon6 help!question about ovulation

HI I'm new to this board and am hoping someone can answer my question. I have been off the pill for a few months now and have had a regular 31 day cycle. THis month I had that eggwhite mucus on day 9 of my cycle which didn't prepare me at all because I didn't think I would ovulate until day 14-17. About three days after that CM my boobs (especially around the nipples) got tender. Do you think I ovulated? Has anyone ever had tender boobs during ovulation? I'm really hoping I get pregnant this month because it is going to be my last chance. (I have 2 other children plus had a m/c and I got pregnant first try with all of them so I'm upset I'm not getting pregnant that easy this time) Any words of advice or that they have have experienced something similar, I would like to hear from you.
(sorry this is so wordy, may as well read a novel)

Welcome to SK! I'm sorry for your loss. It's never an easy thing, that's for sure.

As for your symptoms, unfortunately it can go either way. Increased progesterone can make your bbs sore. Though the fact that what you are mentioning is your nipples can make a difference. The only time my nipples have been sore has been when I was pregnant.

O can move quite a bit because of a variety of factors. I O almost every CD13, or CD14. But I have O'd as early as CD6 and as late as CD17 so I always test, regardless as to what I know. Because my body may decide to throw me a curve ball.

It sounds like you did O. Unfortunately, if you aren't temping it's going to be impossible to tell unless your doc does an u/s or some bloodwork. We can get EWCM then not O (for whatever reason our body doesn't always give up the egg like it should).

I hope you don't have to wait too long. But don't be too tough on yourself. The fact that you've been able to get pregnant before on the first try makes you extremely lucky. It's not the norm. It does take the average woman younger than 35 about a year to conceive. So be good to yourself. Stress can exacerbate our attempts to conceive.

Dear Deeceetoo
Thanks for responding to my question. Hopefully this is the month I get preggo. You really take it for granted when you have always conceived so easily before. Would I be able to test earlier if I ovulated earlier? If so, how long should I wait? This waiting game is enough to drive a person crazy!!!

Honestly I wouldn't test any earlier than "normal" (whatever that is!). The reason is because even though you O'd earlier, you don't know when you may have implanted. So, there may not be enough HCG to register and you'd have that awful "it's over" feeling possibly for no reason.

I say hold out until 14DPO (if you can! I must admit I am a POAS-aholic and have tested as early as 6DPO knowing that I have never, in three years of being here, seen a BFP at 6DPO. sigh). Honestly, if you can face a BFN, then go for it. I would rather see a negative on a stick than by seeing AF at my door. I feel like I've decided to figure it out on my own, rather than allow her to be the one to break the news, KWIM?
