Default help!! Post partum periods

Hi Ladies, hope you all can offer some help.

I had my baby on July 12 via c-section. Three weeks later I had my post-partum checkup. Because of breastfeeding, the dr prescribed the mini pill for birth control. However, I am not exclusively breastfeeding due to supply issues and a super hungry baby. In fact, I know she eats more formula than breastmilk. Within a few days of taking the mini pill, I got a period. It was heavy flow and lasted 5 days or so. I continued to take the pill during this time. A few days went by, then I got another period...still while taking the pill. This one was about the same length of time but much lighter flow. Now I am in the fourth week of pills...the week you're supposed to get your period on. My concern is that my cycle is all off and I could be ovulating during this week??? I'm so confused. I've never had a period while taking the actual bc hormone pills...they've always come on the fourth week. I'm also confused because I am giving her more formula than breastmilk so I don't know if the mini pill is effective enough in preventing pregnancy. I don't want to get pregnant again for a couple of years. Help??? TIA.

I have no advice on that. It's strange. I would say call the doc and scream at him a little and see what they have to say. Wish I knew more. SOrry.
