Any one heard of ovulating twice/cycle?
OK, long story short as I can: I got my first positive OPK on Sat (CD17) at 2pm, verified it with another OPK of a different brand, and got full ferning on saliva tester. CP was aces, CM was as good as it gets for me--got busy. Then around 7pm, I just wanted to see the colors change again (I thought I would NEVER O this cycle) and POAS...was negative. The next day, (Sunday)(CD18) my saliva was back to partial ferning, my CP dropped ever so slightly. Got busy just in case...started with cramping Saturday night low right side, then Sunday cramped low right, then low left, then around belly button, then got hit with sensitive porn-star type BB's, ravenous hunger, indigestion, mood swings from heck (generally swing from bad to worse then back to bad!!). I decided to check another OPK for the heck of it last night...Positive!!! Sooooo....this AM, checked out CP and CM...found copious amounts of white goo, which I think might have been the infamous egg white that I hear so much about. And I am full ferning again. Needless to say, got busy again just in case...I am new to all of this, and so not sure how all this stuff works. It seemed that I had one fertile day, one not fertile day, then another very fertile day! My BBT are not worth a darn because I have had several alcohol induced hi temps, I work shift work, and I have a few sleep deprived nights as well. I don't even rate a coverline this month! I have heard that at times a woman can ovulate, and 24 hours later, ovulate again (it's true, read up on it! Gives us all hope!). I am wondering if this has happened to any of you, or if you think it is all a long drawn out O thing from the first positives?

Re: Any one heard of ovulating twice/cycle?
Hi Becka,
I know your original post is now 2 mos old, but I just stumbled upon it. Not really sure what happened in your case, however it is possible to O twice in one mos., especially in older women. Just wonder what ever happened that cy. Can you fill me in, or do you even remember. :lol

Where did I come from?" the baby asked its mother. She answered, half-crying, half-laughing, and clasping the baby to her breast: "You were hidden in my heart as its desire, my darling. You were in the dolls of all my childhood games. In all my hopes and my loves, in my life, in the life of my mother, and in her mother before her, you have lived."

another thing is that sometimes people have warm ups. maybe you are a warm up to ovulation or maybe you had a "after shock of surge" lol.. But yes you can ovulate twice too

Re: Any one heard of ovulating twice/cycle?
Once a woman ovulates, she cannot ovulate again until the next cycle,
Of course, the concept of ovulating only once a cycle begs the question, ‘What about the case of twins or other multiples?’ Think of it this way. Ovulation takes place over 24 hours. During that time, one or more eggs can be released, each capable of living no more than 24 hours. So once you have ovulated, you cannot ovulate again until the next cycle.

Re: Any one heard of ovulating twice/cycle?
Jacqueline is right. You can ovulate twice in one month and beyond the 24 hour period of ovulation. A study was conducted that showed that about 10% of women experienced this. But the most likely scenario is that you tried to O, didn't make it, and then tried again and succeeded.
