Icon5 Question regarding OPK results

Okay so heres the question......Does the result lines on OPKs get darker when getting closer to the day of ovulation? Reason asking is because I have been using easyclear blueplan OPKs....the lines have been very faint in color (including the test line), to the point where it was hard to tell if I was o'n or not. Well I've been switching up and using the answer ones too. When using the easyclear, it always showed two lines, but the answer ones only showed the test line. Well last night when i tested using the easyclear the results looked exactly alike so i wanted to double check with the answer ones. So i did and now im getting two lines with the answer one which has not happened before. The lines were not the same color but they were there. Any ideas as to what is going on there??????

Default Re: Question regarding OPK results

Did you save your urine in a cup and dip, or were you peeing on the stick for midstream results? Are you holding urine for a few hours prior to testing?

Certainly different brands can yield different results on different woman. The short answer is that most people probably do ramp up so to speak where the lines will get progressively darker. I had good luck with the answer brand myself, but it is odd that you are getting such a difference in results. It sounds like you are very close if the lines were the same on the one test.

My only question would be if you had not used the same urine, you might not have as concentrated an amount of lh.

I always had issues with the OPK lines. So this time I bought the Clear Blue Easy Digital. And it worked perfectly!! On the Day of "O", I had a Nice Smiley Face and 3 days prior to that I didn't get any smiley face. I'd say spend the extra money and try the digital, than there is no guessing with the lines. HTH and Good Luck
