Default opk question (x-post)

Hi everybody, I have a question about opks.
This was my first time using them, and I almost wish I hadn't used them this cycle. I got a positive opk on Tuesday, it was still positive yesterday, and it is still very dark today! That's three days! I was expecting it to be lighter today. Does the opk stay positive after ovulation? Should I assume I haven't o'd yet?
I can't rely on my temps because I was sick this week with a fever, etc. I thought I had a rise in temp this morning, but I guess that could still be a leftover from my illness. I probably wouldn't have a rise in temp today if my opk is still very positive, right?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks ladies.

Some people have had more than two days of positives. I would say you are gearing up to O. It's possible that your body was trying, but since you were sick it's taking a bit longer. I'd look for one more day of a higher temp and then you should know for certain.

I don't think the stick would still show a + after O. I don't think anyone knows how quickly levels change though, but O can occur anywhere from 12-36 hours after your surge. I would think your levels should drop by then.

Mine would be + for around 4 days. We would just try to cover the "bases" just in case.

I would just keep until I got a ---OPK.

I agree with the pp, ur body was probably gearing up to O, but because of ur illness, it just took a little longer for ur body to release that egg.

and I hope u caught that egg .

Babydust to u............
