Default Fertility Monitor shows NO peak!

Hello - I was just wondering if anyone had this same issue. I am 29, ttc for 9 months. Got the clearblue fertility monitor. This is my first month using it. I started on day 6 as instructed, day 9 went to high fertility which is has remained until now. I am on CD21. It hasn't shown me a peak, and I am freaking out thinking that I am not/or haven't ovulated. Has anyone had this happen to them?

We have a monitor and it takes a few rounds of using it for it to get to know you and doesn't always show a peak. Give it another month or so. We used it along with Clomid and were lucky enough to always get a peak reading but the monitor has to get to know you and your cycles. Sounds weird I know but we have one and swear by it. AND we got pregnant after using it for only ONE month. Plus, a study came out recently saying women who use it have a VERY HIGH chance of pregnancy and get pregnant faster versus women who don't use it. Feel free to email me if you have further questions about using it. Good luck

Keep ur eye on what the test sticks look like, if u check out the FAQ sticky thread at the top, there is a link that will show what the test sticks should look like in an unmedicated cy.

It may take a couple of cy's for the monitor to get to know how ur cy's work .

Was the monitor purchased brand new or was it second hand?? If it was second hand, u may need to clear the memory and start again.

I hope this helps .

One more thing....the monitor is EXTREMELY accurate and although it is possible to get pregnant on days of high fertility you really want peak. Are you sure you ovulated? Cuz it should pick up on a surge. Did you press the M button the day you started your period? Our issue is inconsistent ovulation so I had to take Clomid. I have talked to people who don't get peak every month or have never gotten peak. We had intercourse on all the days of high and especially peak to increase the chances of pregnancy. You could always call the toll free # with questions if need be. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions if you'd like.

This link gives pictures of a typical nonmedicated cycle and what will happen to the lines.

How do I Reset the Monitor?

READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO RE-SET THE MONITOR!

1. Remove the plastic cap from one end of a clean-unused-test-stick and snap the cap onto the other end of stick. Inset the test stick into the test stick slot of the monitor. The beveled corner on the insertion end of the stick must face in toward the monitor. THE STICK MUST SNAP INTO PLACE TO PERFORM PROPERLY . The monitor should not be turned until step 2.

2. Press and hold the "M" button. Continue pressing the "M" button while turning the monitor on. NOTE: Do not take finger off the "m" button until these directions say to do so in STEP 5.

3. The screen will show the "remove the test stick" symbol (a flashing test stick with an arrow pointing right). Continue pressing "M".

4. Keep pressing the "M" button and in about 20 seconds, you will see a screen full of symbols. The screen will also display these symbols when you initially turn the monitor on for the FIRST time. This indicates the memory is now cleared of all prior data.

5. Remove the test stick first and then QUICKLY release your finger from the "M" button. The memory should now be cleared.

6. Your screen should display a flashing "M" and one or two dashes. If it does not, it will probably show a "1" and an "M" in a non-flashing mode. If so, you will need to repeat all steps of the process. This procedure may take several times before you successfully reset the unit to its “new” state.

7. Start using the monitor on CD 1 as per the instruction booklet. "

When should I give it sticks?

The first cycle, your monitor will ask for a stick beginning on day 6. In the beginning, it’s best to do that. As time goes on and you know your cycle better, you can save sticks by starting a little later. Once you get a peak, you can stop testing. The monitor will automatically give you a peak two days in a row.

U also may not have O'ed just yet, do u have regular cy's??

Thanks to everyone - very helpful information! I am just starting my second cycle, so we will see what happens! My cycle is 28 days, right on schedule. Just set today to CD1. Hope it works for me this month.
