I would not (and have not) ever feed that long but I thought it was a good documentary, I was pleased they portrayed it in a positive light. Just 'ordinary' breastfeeding has become so taboo, it saddens me that there are people out there who think it shouldn't be allowed for whatever reason.

Hiya Donna,

No, I missed it. It would have been good to see, your right they dont show enough positive programmes about breastfeeding.

I was about to ask how you have been but I just noticed you are ACD of She Knows, when did this happen? or has it been ages and i've just failed to notice?

I love the new pic of your kiddies, Still cant belive how big Anna is, or is it that she looked so small in her last pic? We just had a post about "anymore" how about you?

I watched being a mummy that actually breastfeeds for longer than 1yr (abby 18months, Izzy 15 months and still feeding Luca)

I was pleased it was on but i feel they concentrated too much on the mother that fed her 8yr old
But it didnt really bother me that she did it really but what bothered me was her husband saying he joined in
What sort of message is that giving the child!

Ifeel angry that people were interviewed saying they should do it somewhere else.
Why are they offended? its beyond me? you really can not see a boob, just a happy lil baby/toddler having their essential food!
And most bfing mothers would love a comfy chair and a quiet room to feed their babies but there are not many around
So we are left with no option.

There you go i'll get off my soap box now!

p.s i nearly wrote to cbeebies the other day, i was sooo pleased to see a baby being breastfed on the tweenies!
But when i mentioned it to my Mum she laughted at me so i didnt.

I'm with Claire on this one. I fed Luke for a little over two years until he self-weaned, but my experience wasn't anything like those shown. I was disappointed that weaning was shown either as traumatic (the twins) or very late.

My experience was to gradually cut down feeds as Luke got older, mostly because he stopped asking for them, until he was only feeding to sleep at night and for naps. About a week after his second birthday he stopped feeding to sleep at night and then gradually stopped feeding for naps over the next couple of months.

Gotta go. Baby waking ...
