Hi gals,

I've been kept away again. I had my 28 wk appt on the 16th, the antenatal appt went fine then we had an u/s to check on the growth of the baby, all was measuring right on schedule around the 28 wk mark. We got to find out that this little monkey is a little BOY! although Christopher seems still convinced that he is getting a sister.

We went to the diabetic appt and they found protien in my urine and told me I was being admitted there and then! They then left me in the ward for nearly 5 hrs without stabalizing my sugars, I couldnt eat anything until they had. We made the arrangements that DH had to take the next day off work to look after Christopher and loose money as he doesnt get paid when he doesnt go in.

The long and short of it was, they were not concerned about my high sugar levels whilst I was in the ward but the moment I told them I was discharging myself, they started panicing and threatening me with " think of your unborn baby" it's funny how they were not that concerned when I was actually there for 5hrs waiting for them to sort things out, just when I said I was going home to look after myself. Had I been at home I could have stabalized my sugars within 2 hrs!

Since I've been back home all has been fine, and my levels stabalized. I'm now thinking what kind of care i'm going to get when I actually go in to have this baby. I'm seriously considering looking at other nearby hospital to see if I can change.

I hope you are all doing well.

Dawn - OMG hospitals can suck sometimes......

CONGRATS on the baby being a BOY! a playmate for Christopher.

story about hospitals messing things up ...when I was 28 weeks with HOllie and was inwith high bp I told them about my food allergies and they promised to make me special food - well they didnt, I was starving and I begged every time to get something to eat ...nothing! Two days after admission they checked my urine - nurse says ..."your urine has keytones in, have you been starving yourself?" you cant win

These photos of Hollie were taken on my

However I felt I just had to show off
how grown up looking she is now.

Hospitals can really suck sometimes. I certainly don't have happy memories of my stay after Luke was born. I think it's worth looking at other hospitals, but I think they're all understaffed these days.

It's good to know that your baby is definitely a boy instead of the mixed messages you were getting from your previous scans. I'm sure Christopher will eventually realise he has a new brother.
