Default a little help please

HI everyone,

This is my first post to this board. I have a question to ask you about Celtic traditions. I am looking for a romantic tradition to do for our anniversary in a week. I looked online for some ideas. I did a Lovespoon one year, but was looking for something else to do this year. My husband's family is of Scottish descent. Anyone have any ideas about something Scottish to do?

Cheri

Hi Highland Lass,

I found a web site that might be worth looking at. It contains Scottish wedding traditions:

http://www.siliconglen.com/Scotland/12_9.html

I was married on the 15th of August too!!

In case you don't find anything suitable, why not buy him a signed copy of my debut cd which they say is "an absolute treasure for any fan of Celtic languages and culture" (www.tradivarium.at)

You can hear some sound samples at www.brid.at

Adh mor (Good luck),
Brid

CATZ,
There is a story about two lovers, who were from warring villages. Because of the feuding they were not allowed to see each other, but they did anyway by meeting secretly in different places outside of the villages. They were discovered however, and were warned under penalty of death not to see each other again. There was at the time, what they called a family stone. Each person had a family stone that was to follow them where ever they went. The stones could be carved, or just a color. The lovers ran away with each other to the woods. They rejected both their family stones, deciding to create a new one for themselves. They created one stone to show their unity. They took the stone and threw it into the ocean, saying a blessing along the lines of not allowing htem to be parted, that the stone would not be found. The lovers were never seen again. So that is the story of the Celtic Love stone. If I am not mistaken, you will be able to find the story on the link that Br'd provided above. I think that's where I found the story.

That's a beautiful story Cheri, how sweet! I love Irish/Scottish stories, if anyone could recommend a good book with a collection of stories i'd appreciate it, i've been looking and couldn't find a single one.

Also Cheri our boys share a name and birth year :-) I love your other name choices as well.
