I posted this in one of my replies to Ruth and forgot to put it on a seperate post, so here goes.

I was getting worried about how I stood on a VBAC with this hospital so I spoke with a L & D midwife last week she spoke with head of Antenatal who gave me an appt for Yesterday (27/9).

She told me that she was all for VBAC's provided they go uncomplicated! and my diabeties will also have an effect on the decisions that will be made. As it stands at the moment, if I go into Labour in the next week or so on my own, they will allow me to go for a VBAC but wont allow instruments because if the shoulder gets stuck it could cause both of us too many problems. She said she will only let me stay at stage 2 for around 1 hr and have me stop if I dont progress (as with DS). As rare as uterine ruptures are, she told me that she has only ever seen two in her career (15 yrs) and 1 was last week!

Going solely on the details of the last u/s on 13/09 the baby was already measuring 2 wks ahead which is bad news as it means he's getting bigger than expected at this point. She did however warn me that as each day passes, my chances of a c-section increase!

Then we booked a c-section date Friday 21st October 2005!!! I'm so excited now! knowing that I only have a little over 3wks to wait at the worse case senario. If you ask me, I personally think he will be here by 11th or 13th October, I just have a feeling! Keep your s that I get to try for my VBAC, that means possibly being in L&D by the end of this week!!!

How exciting! I hope you get your VBAC, but if not at least you have an end date to aim for!

I hope you've got everything ready in case this little boy arrives soon.

Ok, how ready is everything, lets see..... DH started painting the nursery almost 4 weeks ago and still hasnt finished! I have all the of Christophers clothes out till the age of 1 which needs to be washed and put away once the chest of draws and wardrobe has been cleaned out. Oh and also the cot, nursing chair, pram, car seat & swing all need to be cleaned and assembled. Not forgetting the hospital bag needs to be packed... mmmmmmmm looking at that lot, let's hope he doesnt arrive this weekend!

Claire, it's so exciting having a date to look forward to isnt it? at least you know the ends in sight. How is the pg going otherwise? is it hard runing around after two? have you had any contractions? I've had very little twinges over the last couple of days.

Yes Dawn im finding it hard this time
The girls really do fight with each other all the time and i just dont have the energy for it(god i feel a bad mummy now)
Have had so many BHs now since 14wks that i hardly notice them
Not sure my body would know how to go into labour on its own though
But i do still think they have my dates wrong,so im dragging DH round the shops next weekend to get some blue clothes! and getting my bags packed "JUST INCASE"

Good luck sweetie!
Nice to see you round more often

Oh honey, I do feel for you. I find it hard with just runing after Christopher, I really dont know how you cope with two I hope they do less fighting and more helping mummy, I'm sure you could really do with it!

Let me know if anything happens early, I tend to check on this board more than Topaz Tummies, it's just so busy on there, I couldnt even catch up if I tried.

That's interesting, I hadnt heard that one before Ruth, Pineapples? mmmmmmm, To be honest I'd rather that than the other, I cant even think about getting close to any with DH let alone doing it. The only thing that comes to mind is that it would be quite painful! ooouuuccchhh

I know - I think it's a myth perpetuated by male doctors haha.

The night my waters broke with dd, DH and I went for a walk - only 10 minutes or so and called at the Chineese on the way home - the lady serving must have known my intentions....... I had Chicken and Pinapple - she put loads of pineapple in, James had some spicy beef thing - she made it extra spicy.

Anyway I ate all of my mine and a mouthfull of Jamess(I'm no good at spicy food) and that night at 3am my waters broke!

I think I'll go for a Dhansak at the Indian time though
