Hi all I'm new.. I thought I would come over and say hello since I am now in the UK. I did post on the Canada board for awhile but since we moved I thought I would check in and see how active this board was. My name is Tonya and hope to get to know you all

Hello and welcome - I'm guessing that you are Canadian - what was the reason for your move to sunny England?

Thank you for the welcome. Yes I am Canadian... I have lived here in sunny England before for a few years and now we are back.. My husband is English so that is the reason for the move. See all my family is in Canada and all his are here.. We have been living in Canada the past 3 years and had a baby girl (Randie in my siggie) on November 14th/04 she was 3 months premature and we have had to deal with alot of NICU and other issues.. anyway.. Randie is the first and probably only grandchild to hubbys parents so we wanted to be fair and come here for a few years so they can get to know their grandchild. My parents have 5 of them.. we plan to live here for a few years and hope to move back to canada at a later time but I guess we will just see what happens

I'm Dawn and have 2 little monkeys in my siggy, we live in Norfolk with DH Pat. I'm not that far from you, about 75 miles to the East. Maybe we could meet up one day during the summer.

How does it feel adjusting to England? What do you miss most about Canada? You have a beautiful little Daughter, such gorgeous eyes. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

The board has been quite slow lately, We've just had 4 new arrivals to the board since August 2005 and another one due any minute! Hopefully we will all be able to post more once we have got our routines together.

Hi Tonya!

I'm Karen and I live in Berkshire with my dh Ian and my two boys (see below). Like Dawn said, most of the regulars on this board have had new arrivals in the past few months and we're finding it harder to post at the moment. We are a very friendly bunch though, so hopefully you'll stick around and join us.

Where in Canada are you from? I have relatives in BC and Alberta and we had a great holiday in Canada in '98. I'd love to go back, maybe when the boys are older.

Okay to try and answer both of your questions.. Im from Ontario, Canada.. As far as adjusting to England.. errr it is very tough!! Hills.. hills everywhere..

I am a big woman and not in that great of health so the hills etc kill me..lol I am working on losing the weight and getting some excercise but that will take along time so just doing what I can day to day.. What I miss most about Canada is my family.. all my family live in Canada and we are all so close. That is what I miss most

Thank you for the compliments on my daughter

She is my world and my reason to change my life and get healthy!! I want to live to see her grow up! We have all been through alot with her coming 12 weeks early and her long stay in NICU, surgery and everything else.. It is great to have her home and doing well

Dawn Christopher and Anderson are gorgeous! Maybe sometime Anderson and Randie can have a playdate! Karen .. Luke and Connor are gorgeous as well.. I

Hey Tonya, I'm right there with you with the weight issue, last I looked I was just tipping the scales just over the 100klg mark and am slightly lighter than I was when pg with Anderson. I too have to go on a diet, maybe we could start a gradual thing together? Although because I'm an insulin dependant diabetic so loosing weight is gonna take slightly longer for me. Let me know how you feel about it, maybe we could have a goal to aim for.

A playdate would be fun, I would have to prearrange it though it will take me about 2-2 half hrs to drive to you. Also the weather has got to be better than it is at the moment, they forcasted snow in the coming weeks!
