Dawn

I havent had it yet! I was supposed to have it on thursday past and no one told me I had to come of the injections, this thursday is day so there is no amnio clinic as everywhere is closed where I live so I have to wait till the 24th now to have it done - appt for 9.30am.

we are very upset over the whole thing and have a ton of questions to ask before we even have the procedure done. We will see the geneticist first and we have been told we dont have to do the amnio if we dont want. but at the end of the day we are still in two minds because if there is something wrong I think we would like to know now so we can prepare for a special needs child in advance KWIM. Of course we have talked endlessly about this and the whole week has been one big emotional rollercoaster.
Deep dpwn my gut instinct is telling me babyJ is fine though so fingerscrossed for us.

I have been positng on the MM board but other than that I have been laying low licking my wounds.

ANYWAY Dawn - HOW ARE YOU? Miss preggo, how did you find Dh the last couple of days, has he come round yet?

That is so out of order, I always thought the amnio had to be done between week 14-16 ??? I could be wrong, it's worrying enough discussing and going through it but to make you wait is just really unfair! I do agree with you that I think I would want to know as well, as I believe that its better to prepare yourself for something that could be so demanding, it may make it easier in the long run.

I am keeping all my fingers s for you that all is ok, I too have a feeling that your jellybean will be fine. Can I ask if the reason is the u/s or a blood test that they are suggesting an amnio done? Are you going to find out the sex or leave it for a suprise?

I'm fine, just the usual ligament streatching and for some strange reason I seem to have a constant back ache between my lower back and waistline. It could be several things including picking up Christopher I think he's about 16-17kg now.

I'm just waiting for Tuesday so I can ring the hospital and see if they got my dr's fax and if they'll give me an appt this Thursday morning, I need to arrange space at the nursery if I do get one this coming week, if not I'm gonna have to wait

I told my mum and SIL both were very happy about it, two close friends who dont know anyone else from my other friends. DH has seemed to changed his outlook, he still doesnt seem as eager but i'm gonna put that down to him being overloaded with work and he still hasnt had a day off, we last saw him friday night, he comes back tomorrow night s He has 10 days over Easter which we are all looking forward to.

Hey your hols is coming up soon, I bet you are really looking forward to that?

Why not go shopping for some holiday clothes?

Dawn
the amnios can be done at anytime 15 to 19 weeks is ideal but it doesnt really matter. They didnt do the tests till 14 weeks so theres not a lot of choice. My blood tests showed raised hormones or something I dont know much more than that I didnt really listen when the doc explained it my mid was racing - just that I had he tests on wedneday pm the week before aand that my consultant personally rang me at ome onthe monday. hat freaked us out for a start! We are going to find out the sex of the baby, if we dont get to know at the amnio (NI docs are very strange about telling you this info) we are going for a 4d scan in may which you can see what sex baby is. Its a girl anyway!

Dawn Dh will come round I am sure - make sure he gets to go with you when you have a scan so it will seem more real for him. I am glad your family are happy for you at least someone else can enjoy the bliss with you.

A friend of mine also had an amnio done, it was due to raised hormone levels I've found out and like I mentioned before she had a healthy baby just over a week ago. When are you having the 4D scan? is that the one where you actually get to see the what the baby looks like? How exciting.

I just wanted to ask you about implantation bleeding, can you remember if you got it everytime you were pg? I'm just thinking back now and dont remember any bleeding at all in any shape, colour or form. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about it's just something that stuck in my mind.... mmmmmm

Dawn if you have any sortof spotting or bleeding you should go to your EPU at the local hospital. just ring them they should see you and at least you will get an u/s to put your mint at rest.

as for implantation bleeding it can happen up to 8 weeks so if it is that TRY not to worry. I know that is so hard to do LOL.
I have bled this whole pregnancy so far, its quite alarming at times theres at least once a week when it happens often more. so much so I got myslef a doppler so I can check the hb instead of running up and down to the hosptial everytime.

How has your bleeding been lately? is it easy to find the baby's heartbeat with a doppler? did you buy or rent it? how much was it? does it make you feel a little more reassured that you have one?

If I get a concern, I'll go to Kings Lynn hospital and get it checked. I may have to pop in and see the antinatal nurse tomorrow, she said it could be 2 or 3 weeks before I get an appt, I was hoping for one a lot sooner.

I had bleeding with both pregnancies, in fact the midwife gave me a bollocking for not going in to the dr's straight away.
