O-Hi-O moms
This is a discussion on O-Hi-O moms within the Midwest forums, part of the Where You Live category; Hi ladies!! Whats new? Come out and share about your familes...
Hi, Joy! My name is Barb, and I live in Marysville (we've been here for 9 yrs.). DH and I will be married for 19 yrs. on Sept. 6th. We have 4 children - Kevin (16), Scott (13), and Kayleigh and Clay (2 yrs. old - 7/15/03). I saw from a previous thread that you live in Dublin. I shop in Dublin about once a week (Krogers - Avery Road). For the past 5 years I've been a SAHM. I used to teach 1st grade.
I'll share about how we got twins: After 11 yrs, I convinced my DH to have one more baby. We found out we were having twins at the routine 4 month ultrasound. Great big shock Twins do not run on either side of our families. It's just old age!! I was 38 when I had the twins.
Well, I'm glad you started this thread. I'm bored today. The older boys started school yesterday, and the little ones are napping.

We live in Dublin off Sawmill Road. We also travel up towards Murfield every once in a while and hit the fountains at Ballantree. Ever been there? Cameron loves it!!
So a little about me I have Cameron (5 1/2) and Cassidy (3 1/2 months) We had secondary infertility with Cassidy for almost 5 years before she *surprised* us. She's a definate joy! Cameron starts kindy next week and I'm a little sad. He was my baby for so long, its hard to think of him as a big kid now. I'm also married to Micah. We just celebrated 7 years of marriage. I'm 25 and he's 28. We're originally from NC but moved here in 2002 for work.
Cant wait to get to know more about you I love meeting new people!

I spend a lot of time on Sawmill. I was just there last night - Sam's Club and Target. I've never been to the Ballantree fountains. I'll have to get there sometime - it's only 15 minutes away from me.
Be ready to next week when Cameron starts school. That first day of kindergarten always broke my heart. Now my oldest is driving to school. It's amazing how fast time goes.
So, do you like Central Ohio? I've lived here all my life. DH and I grew up in Gahanna.
Talk to you soon. My two are trying to jail break from their room.

LOL I hear that. I cried last year on his first day of preschool LOL We love Ohio, the weather isnt the greatest but at least the land is mostly flat LOL WE moved due to Micah's work situation (he was layed off, couldnt find a decent paying job and so we moved here where he works for his ex-mil and LOVES his job! Makes great $$ and just has a wonderful work environment) Cameron misses his gparents but my parents are moving up here (next weekend ) and that will leave Micah's parents in NC but... at least I'll have family here. Most of Micah's family lives around Lima.
The fountains are great! Cameron really loves them and I cant wait for Cassidy to get bigger so she can play in them. I'm really looking forward to next spring/summer when she's beginning to walk.

Joy - I'm thinking of you this week. I know Cameron is starting kindergarten. Try not to cry to much . Did your parents move here this weekend? That will make it easier for you. My parents live in Gahanna. I love having them so close (40 minutes away). They came to our house last month and babysat for the twins overnight while we took the older boys boating for a weekend at Indian Lake. My kids have such a great time with their grandparents. My DH's parents live 2 hours away. Did you have a good weekend? We're trying to get some more boating in for the season. We took the family up to Indian Lake yesterday and went boating for the whole day. Kayleigh and Clay are getting to be quite the boaters.
P.S. How's Cassidy? Is she rolling over yet? I wanted to tell you we have our pediatrician in Dublin - Dr. Sotos (River's Edge Pediatrics).

Hi all! I'm Teresa,44, born in Gallipolis, Ohio, and lived most of my life there, but now in Fairborn, Ohio. I'm married to Barry, the man of my dreams, and am a SAHM with three children: Brian, 19, who is currently living in Sandusky with his grandfather, Adrienne, 15, who is a freshman in HS, and Amy, 12, who is a 7th grader. Also mama to my furbaby, a Siamese named Keiko.
The kids actually go downtown to the clinic inside Childrens hospital. Its the first place I took Cameron and just never changed it LOL I really should look into a closer dr LOL
Cameron did awesome last week with kindy, no tears any day. Today however was a waterfall of tears I think he just had too much fun over the weekend and couldnt get back into the routine. I'm praying tomorrow is much better.
My parents did move here last week and I'm so excited! lol Cameron is loving them being so close although my dad sure is tired We travel thru Indian Lake every other weekend on our way to Lima.
Cassidy is good she's rolled a few times but would rather scoot on her back then be rolling over LOL She also loves to be standing up LOL no matter that she really cant do that yet
If you'd be interested in getting together just let me know. We sometimes go to the Graeters on Bethel Road(they have an indoor play area) and we do several parks in Powell. We can meet most anywhere Cameron is in school from 9-11:30 so I could meet you between then or we could meet in the afternoon sometime at a park whatever is easiest
Hi Teresa Its nice to meet you!

Hi, Joy and Teresa!
I apologize for not posting so often. Kayleigh and Clay have had colds the past few days, and Scott is keeping us busy with football. Joy, I know what you mean by Tues. being hard for Cameron to go back to school. When I taught 1st grade, the Tues. after Labor Day was always the hardest for the kids. I usually tried to incorporate fun activities for the day. If this makes you feel better, both my teenage boys didn't want to go to school either on that Tues.
Well, DH and I celebrated our anniversary on Sat. at Bravo's, and then we went to Krogers afterwards. You know we've been married for a long time, when we both agreed to end our evening at the grocery store.
We'll have to get together Joy. I didn't realize that Graeter's had an indoor play area. If I can get the twins dressed in the morning, I've thought about going to the Tuesday's at Tuttle. Have you ever done that? I used to take my older two to the Homestead Park on Cosgray, but I haven't ventured there with the twins yet. We'll have to plan something.
Teresa - One of my DH's college buddies from Rio Grande grew up in Gallipolis - Roger Saunders. Don't know if you know him or not? My DH has lost contact with him.
Our two older boys are about the same ages as your two youngest. Kevin is 16 and a freshman in HS (he just got his driver's license), and Scott is 13 and an 8th grader. Fairborn is about an hour away from Marysville. It seems Marysville is an half hour to an hour away from everything.
Well gotta go. You wouldn't believe this - I have to go to the grocery store again (getting ready for the big game tomorrow). You would think that I live there.

Hi, Joy. Sorry it's been awhile to get back to you. My oldest son's classmate and friend (also one of his teacher's son's) died of cancer on Monday morning. This has been an incredible journey for this boy for the last 10 months. We thought he was going to beat the cancer, but it returned in Aug. The kids at school got word last Friday that Corey wasn't going to make it, so many went to Children's Hospital to say goodbye (Kevin didn't want to do this - he wanted to remember him well). Tough week - The funeral was Thurs. I hope I never have to go through with this with one of my kids. Sooo painful!!!

Hey Joy! Long time no talk to. I have a new screen name and haven't posted on these boards since the move back in 2004. I don't even know if you remember me it's been so long since we chatted but it's Alison (and Grace...my old screen name was mygirlgrace) from just up the street from you. I just closed my board down last week so I've been looking for other places to post. How have you been? Congratulations on the little one. How exciting for you. And a big hello to all the other Ohio mommies!

Isnt it crazy!!! I look at Cassidy today and its hard to remember what it was like when we only had one kiddo and now we have 2 and they both are getting so big. I was just saying the other day that I dont feel old enough to have 2 kids let alone an almost 5 year old.
