Default Not temping during period

I've noticed some charts girls won't temp during their period, won't that screw up their coverline?

I'm just curious how that would work.

I think it all depends on how long your cy's normally are and how familiar you are w/ your fertility SxS and how regular your cy's are. If you have really short or unpredicatable cy's I'd temp right through AF. but if you have a regular length or longer cy, there really isn't a whole lot of point to it.. Temping through your whole cy makes for a nice complete chart but it's not always necessary and some/most women have unpredictable temps through AF or it may take them a few days for their post O temps to get back down through AF. I prefer to have 5 or 6 days of temps before O to get a good read of things and so you can see the body gear up for O (so tracking a slow decrease/dip in temps, F CM, ferning on a scope, OPK's, CP). When I was on clomid I found I had to sometimes ignore my temps on clomid (taken on CD#5 for 5 days) b/c my temp went so high (which is normal for clomid)and I would O a couple days after taking the last pill. That would mess w/ my CL and predicted O day.

I haven't always. I did with my medicated cycles when I never knew if I'd O or not, plus I was learning my body and all about charting.

For the past year I've had natural cycles and really only temp to confirm O. I start temping when I can tell I'm close to O.

I'm not worried about the coverline if I know when I O'd. I can add it. I have enough history to know what is normal for my temps etc. If I'm simply temping to confirm O rather than obsess if it's a pg chart or not , I really don't need the horizontal line, imo.

I don't temp during AF since my temps don't drop right away with AF. It seems to take 5 days for them to get low again. Plus I like having a few days each month where I don't have to make sure I have my themometer.

I think FF "knows" that some women don't temp during AF and it doesn't mess with your coverline at all. As long as you have a substantial amount of temps between the end of AF (and the beginning of temping) and the time that you ovulate, it can pretty much figure it out. I never did temp during my period, either. I knew I wouldn't ovulate, and I always felt too crappy and depressed to wake up so early!
