Default Another Question About O

Hi Girls - I have another question regarding temps. My CL is 97.9, and so far, my post-o temps are fairly close to the CL. Does that indicate low progesterone??? For some reason I think it does. I'm going to do some investigating on the web.

Thanks!
Colleen

I'm not an expert but your temps look good. Progesterone peaks at 7dpo. Temps are not always close to coverline with low progesterone even. If you are worried you should talk to your doctor about it.

I agree w/ Tammy... Your temps look good!

But I kinda question if you Oed on cd#35 and you had a fallback rise pattern (where temp drops one day after the 1st day of high temps then goes back up) That was after all your last day of EWCM But.. It's hard to say for sure.

How long are your cy's normally? I'm asking just b/c I guess you could debate that O could have happened around CD#30 too... Which would make your temps over the last 6 days triphasic. If you were not confused before.. Did I confure you now

Regardless, you do have an obvious shift in temps that looks good to me

Girls - Thank you for your replies. I am not overly concerned, just wondering. I had a possible ectopic pregnancy in February, and with that pregnancy, my progesterone was only like 4.8 or something crazy like that. So since then, I've been wondering if I may have a problem with it. I was on the Ortho Evra patch but stopped it last November. So since November, my cycles have been ranging from 28 to 35 days. . . but before conceiving my son, I had major O issues. I was diagnosed with probable PCOS and never O'd on my own. But after, I seem to be ok.

This cycle I also took Vitex. . . I thought it was supposed to make your cycle shorter, not longer. I don't even know if I should continue taking it. . .

I guess I'll see what the end of this cycle brings and maybe I'll try it for one more cycle. . .

Anyway, thanks again!

I had an ectopic when TTC#2 (before my twins) I assume you had the MTX treatment to deal w/ your ectopic, I had a surgical termination and removal of a tube at 10 weeks. That is when I ran into problems w/ O. I ended up on clomid to get pg (which I did and that's how I became pg w/ 2 at once ) b/c things just shut down GWIM. Really awful charts unpredictable cy's, hot flashes, AF's that lasted forever or flat out skipping AF's and just had brown spotting... Never saw much if any EWCM, even grew some facial hair

I've been looking into getting my tubes tied but read that one of the complications of having this done is early menopause. Something about having your tubes tied possibly cutting off blood supply to the ovary... Ovaries are your female hormone production capitol (progesterone is also produced by the ovary). So anyway.. It made me think back to my ectopic and made me wonder if having my tube removed and the end clamped, if that had anything to do w/ my hormones shutting down leading to 2 years of TTC & infertiltiy treatments. I wonder if it contributed to my body giving up on ovulating, causing my hormones to go completely out of whack. But.. It's all just theory and it's a moot point now b/c I am after all pg w/ #4 completely unassisted and don't plan on having another baby. But.. I thought I'd share my conspirtacy theory w/ you anyway

I wish I could help you out w/ the vitex but that's something I have no clue about. what is it?

I am sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy. But congrats on #4. And yes, I was treated successfully with MTX. I have not had any testing since the billion HCG blood tests, so I'm hoping that my tubes are ok. I too have had a few af's that were just brown spotting that lasted about 2 weeks. Weird.

Anyway, Vitex is a herb that is taken every day that is supposed to help the body to regulate itself. It seems to be a wonder herb for most that try it, but for others, it seems to make things worse. I did O, so I don't know if it's making things worse or better for me. I'm gonna give it another cycle, since I'm technically not TTC. . . Here's a link all about vitex. . .

I used vitex before TTC. It really helped my cycles but it takes a few months to do anything. My problem was different from yours though. I had really heavy AFs that would cause me to be anemic. My second cycle I couldn't believe the difference and the third well I was 'normal' and not running to the bathroom every 2 hours to change my tampon. I was too afraid to continue it while TTC though. I don't really trust herbs not to be proven to cause problems with babies later.
