Default Things your have learned from your kids

I am wondering what being a mom has taught you. It can be something you heard them say or just an experience. I want to know all the little pearls of wisdom.

One thing that I have learned is that the right way to play with the toy isn't always the best way.

I've learned that watching the same show/cartoon over and over makes it more interesting and funnier

I've learned that bubble bath ; shampoo ; liqiud soap all make alot of bubbles when they've been emptied into a bathtub and you're trying to clean it up!!

I've learned that no matter how hard my day ... was my boy always makes it seem worthwhile when I get home

I've learned that you need the patience of a saint to raise children. They drive me crazy...but they also know exactly how to put a smile on my face.

Things my children taught me (or what being a mom taught me):

1. I am only human; I have and know my limits but my children have yet to discover them
2. I like watching Baby Einstein and Blue`s Clues much better than watching Barney
3. There is no such thing as taking every stain out of something
4. Cooking and caring for a toddler should never coincide
5. I don`t have all the answers (that`s why we have Google!)
6. Having sticky floors is the norm, not the exception
7. Planning dinner parties (or other adult activities) should never be undertaken with children around
8. I never never never not think or not worry about my children
9. I hate my husband at times because we sometimes have differences in childrearing or I`m just plain exhausted and ill tempere, and that`s o.k. (nobody`s perfect)
10. There is nothing like the look I get of love, contentement and animation in the eyes of Claire when I come home from work.
11. No matter how tired, grumpy or feed up I am, I would defend and protect my children with every cell of my body.
12. I make sure my kids go to bed happy and that I`ve heard all their adventures of the day and listened to their woes so that they can sleep peacefully and comforted.

I could go on and on (as you can tell I`m sure ) but the bottom line is, there are days when I wish being a mom was easier but I have to remember that I`m not perfect and neither are my children but the love and attachment I feel towards them makes it the best experience in the world, KWIM

Well, I've had to learn that I'm not supermom (I really thought I was going to be, you know). This has been a hard one for me to accept.

I've learned that I have a heck of a lot of patience (most days ).

I've learned to look at my parents in a whole different way. Knowing how they feel about me, and how difficult I must have made life for them at times...I feel sort of guilty at times, but I respect them even more. You can't realize how much your parents love you until you are a parent yourself.

I've learned that labour hurts a whole heck of a lot more than I ever dreamed possible.

I've learned that I really don't enjoy 'pretending' very much...Joshua LIVES in his imagination these days, and I'm finding out I'm not really good at that. Can't we just colour or something?

I've learned that no matter how exhausting, difficult, and messy parenting is, nothing in life is more worth the self-sacrifice.
