Icon10 Okay, this is for everyone

Update time! All the lurkers and the regulars who have been lurking...this means you too.

Okay, so there isn't too much new here since I posted Marisa's one year update. She is going to be a heartbreaker, that I know for sure. She is also going to give me gray hair, that I know for sure, too. She's taken to climbing up on the dining room chairs, then screaming because she can't get down, repeat, repeat, repeat. She's also discovered the computer so she climbs up on the chair and pushes all the buttons and waves the mouse around and opens up about a bazillion windows, then screams because she can't get down. Sometimes I open up www.kneebouncers.com for her, but she gets it screwed up in only a minute or two. Man, this girl wears me out, but I also gets me wrapped tighter and tighter around her finger every day. She's got this terrific, outgoing personality and she loves to have fun. Her favourite thing is to have me chase her around the house...you should hear her laugh, it is so contagious. Her other favourite thing to do is to torment her older brother, but that is what baby sisters are for, right? He is her favourite person to kiss though, and that is priceless to see. She's my tiny little princess...still too small to even turn her carseat around.

Joshua is 3.5 now, and it's freaking me out that he's going to be 4. Why does 4 sound so much older than 3? He is still drawing up a storm daily, and his talent blows me away...it is way beyond his years. Have I ever posted any? I should. He has finally come out of his shell and plays quite well with his little friends. He used to be soooo reserved and introverted. He'll always be on the introverted side I know (takes after me) but he's much better now at being social, and actually sings along at circle time and stuff. He's doing very well now on the potty training thing, after one weekend of total regression when we went camping. It's nice now that we're at the point where I can take him wherever and not be so afraid he's going to pee his pants in public.

I'm enjoying being a SAHM, though I'm not enjoying being this broke. We'll get used to it though. I absolutely know that in 10 years when I look back, I'm going to be pleased with our decision and not regret it at all. It's that faith that keeps me from calling my ex-boss and with a red face, ask for my job back. DH would have me go back to work in a second I think, since he is rather into buying stuff , but I am pretty sure that in 10 years, he's going to be happy I stayed home with the kids, too. We're starting to get into a new pattern and routine after a pretty chaotic summer.

I'm still finding it hard to keep up online the way I used to because my kids don't like to allow me any while they are awake, and I fight DH for the computer once they're in bed...that's if I'm not just so burnt out that I collapse in front of the tv. How in the heck do 40 year olds have babies and keep up with them? I'm still hanging onto the last shreds of my twenties and they tire me out. Am I just a wuss?

Anyway, that's my update. Now it's your turn.

Here goes...

Samantha is 9 months old. She sits very well on her own, but hasn't figured out how to crawl yet. I thought that she may be an early walker, but somedays I think that she will piss me off and walk at 17 months like her big brother did. She has certainly discovered her voice, and it's not her 'quiet one'. She shrieks at the top of her pretty little lungs.

She loves to watch other children. Her face lights up when Alex is around. And he loves her to death; he get right in her face and talk's babytalk to her. Very cute!

Alex turned 3 in Sept. He is enjoying pre-K, although he tends to keep to himself since he doesn't speak much French. I know that if it were run in English, they would have to shut him up. He is still into dinosaurs...BIG TIME. And the stuff that comes out of his mouth sometimes...truly amazing. I forget that he is 3.

Potty training...well, that has pretty much gone out the window. I have given up...for now. Sucks, because if I don't check his diaper often, he'll sit it in for hours, even if it's full (can you say gross?). He had a really bad diaper rash the other day, so much so that he was crying when he ran because it was uncomfortable. I may try again soon, but I am very discouraged.

Dh and I have been very busy. He is opening up a new business (he is still employed with his current employer). He has talked about opening up something for a long time now. I am glad that he finally is. It's a golf-based business...I am helping with whatever I can (making & printing brochures, building a database, etc) so that's why I am not on as much as I would like.

As for me, my health is in check. I go for my yearly CT scan in Nov and then for my 4 month blood test in Dec (right before Christmas, which is when I was originally diagnosed). Other than that, I am trying to enjoy my time at home with the kids, while just barely doing enough housework to keep things moving along. Gearing up for Halloween and Christmas, and starting to think about Sam's first birthday in January (I birthday parties ).

That's it...whose next?

Well..I have been in major lurker-mode this last year...crazy busy year for us...but thanks Roseanne for this post...forces me out of the wood-work..

Well...my little man is 10.5 months old....he started walking on Oct 1/05...and is def. keeping us on our toes!! He is still not sleeping ...although he is doing MUCH MUCH better, he usually is only up once per night...and only for 15-20 mins...so we are beg. to remember what it feels like to sleep!!
He is such a happy baby..he says Mum..Dad..Grandma...and BaBa (Bottle). He is so curious and has no fear...climbs up on everything and you can't take your eyes off him for a second before he is into trouble!! He adores the Wiggles and it is the one DVD you can put on and he will sit and watch the whole thing..totally mesmerized!! He seems to be showing signs of my wheat allergies (Celiac Disease) so I have taken him off of it completely for now and his tummy is better. We are up in the air about how to proceed right now...all testing requires he be eating the wheat to get accurate results...

Kate is doing amazing...she is taking ballet and just loving it...she adores her teacher....the only problem is she gets side-tracked with staring in all those mirrors around her!! She goes to a two-hr play group each Thurs a.m. and loves that as well. She has been 100% potty trained both night and day..for about 6 months now...she has only had about three night accidents ever...so the whole process was pretty easy and pain-free for us. She is a bright..energenic..very out-going little girl...she amazes us everyday with the stories she tells ....

We are bringing the kids to see The Wiggles in Nov in Ottawa...they both adore them...we have third row seats so they wil be able to dance in the front aisle...I can't wait to see their faces...should be a blast!!

My hubby is back to travelling with his job...I am back on 5 days...my nanny is back full-time...and I am in constant flux between all of the mommy guilt I have working full-time!!!! I was hoping to be on 4 days..but work is so insane right now..I can barely finish everything in 5 days...I am hoping in a few months to be back to 4 days so I can see the kiddos more.

Well..that's it for us...'til next time....

My turn,

Camille is 2 years old, my mom swears she's 3 and she's all girly girl. I'm impressed with her everyday, speaks up a storm, I can actually have small conversations with her. The big WHY is making it's way at everything we say. She throws fits when she doesn't get it her way but I think we manage them ok and it doesn't get into big tantrums...well for now She likes to help us with everything from making lunches, beds, setting the table and even putting on our shows. I can't wait to see how she'll be with the baby.

as for me I'm 22 weeks pg, everything is going great, I'm a lot less stressed since I know what is coming and I enjoy every moment as this is the last pgcy! The nursery is almost done. I need to shop for fabric and time is not something I have right now (and money...isn't 6/49 25 million tonight? )

That's pretty much it for me right now...
who's next?

Alrighty..

Kat is going to be 4 in Feb.. And i agree, 4 seems so much older than 3.. I keep on having to remind myself that she is going to be 4!! She is a typical annoying 3 yr old. Pretty much anything could set off the "end of the world" type crying fit. She is very stubborn, and thinks mommy is mean most days. But other than that, she is doing good. She takes gymnastics once a week and loves it. And she is doing better about following directions and listening to the coaches. She loves her crafts (except the clean up afterwards). We just got over pnemuenia with her (and Dh had it too), so was pretty miserable for a few days (though she didn't have any of the typical symptoms, just the deep cough). She is very excited to be starting school next year. We go with our neighbour and pick up her daughter from the bus every few days (she is in gr 1). She is also VERY VERY excited for Xmas since we are heading up north (about an hour north of Timmins) for the first time to spend Xmas with the IL's (spending 2 weeks up there).

Ellie will be 2 in Jan, and is a little rascal. She is definitely a second child cause she is tough and very brave. She is also in gymnastics once a week. She goes with her daddy every week. And LOVES it. She is the youngest in her class (the age group is 18months to 3 yrs and most of the kids are over 2). But she gives them a run for their money.. She can already do somersaults, walk the balance beam with no problems, and do a handstand with no one helping her. It's almost scary. Her language skills blow me away. At her 18 month appt, her doctor said that her vocabulary is that of a 3 yr old (and she has added a ton more words since then). She can have conversations with pretty much anyone and can say up to 7 word sentences. She is learning more and more each day, (and sometimes more than Kat it feels).. She is definitely independant, and is learning how to dress herself. She knows how to get her socks on, her shoes (and most of the time on the right feet), can get her shirt on, and usually her pants.. We are thinking about potty training because she is definitely interested, and has been occasionally peeing on the potty.

I'm now 14 weeks pregnant and doing really good.. Had an appt this morning, got to hear the heartbeat again. And got the blood work done (and the midwife found out how stubborn my veins are). Got the requistion for the ultrasound which hopefully will be in 3 weeks (Since my next appt is in 4). So things are going very good with this pregnancy. Hubby is still 100% sure that it is a boy.. Kat keeps changing her mind.. One day it is a boy (named Frank for some reason), and the next is a girl.. Ellie thinks that she has a girl in her tummy and mommy has a boy in mine.

I think that's it..
